Hi everyone! I am in desperate need of some help with song choice. What's a good song that we can do for both the mother/son father daughter dance? We want to dance to the same song at the same time, so it can't be too specific to either pair, so, any suggestions?
Then They Do by Trace Adkins is a good song....if you like country. There are other more traditional songs like wind beneath my wings, or Have I told you lately....
We may be doing the same thing and a song that we've been tossing around is "You'll be in my Heart" by Phil Collins from Tarzan. It's kind of parent/child appropriate and super cute :)
We're doing the same thing. I think we are using Forever Young by Rod Stewart. There is a slower version on one of his CDs. Can't remember which one but if you have itunes you should be able to find it.
My father is in a wheelchair and couldn't dance with me and felt too embarassed to try even in the chair. So we combined the Mother/Son dance with a Bride/Brother dance. My brother cried when I asked him to stand in for my father and it was great to have that moment with my sibling. And the words are very fitting for all situations:
There are places I'll remember All my life, though some have changed Some forever, not for better Some have gone and some remain All these places had their moments With lovers and friends, I still can recall Some are dead and some are living In my life, I've loved them all
But of all these friends and lovers There is no one compares with you And these memories lose their meaning When I think of love as something new Though I know I'll never lose affection For people and things that went before I know I'll often stop and think about them In my life, I'll love you more
Though I know I'll never lose affection For people and things that went before I know I'll often stop and think about them In my life, I'll love you more
