Suggestions for our ceremony site?

Ok so we got our bill back from Disney and it was a bit high...not suprising, it is Disney, lol.

Our original idea for the ceremony included:

-To the sides of the altar, 3 lucite columns with cylindar vases and large pink pomanders (carnation)
    -White aisle runner
    -Fuchsia petals lining the sides

Well the bill came back and each pomander was priced at $125, the aisle runner at $260 and the petals at $400.  Because we are at Disney we have some restrictions. We can use our own aisle runner and things but we have to set them up ourselves. PLUS I don't want to spend too much outside of Disney becaues we still have a minimum amount to spend WITH Disney.

So we have decided to nix the carnation pomanders and do tissue ones, but I am stumped on the aisle.  Here is a pic of our ceremony location.  Any suggestions??

You can get an aisle runner from Michael's for 39 dollars!?!?!?!

And maybe get them to do the petals?

Do you need the aisle runner?  I kinda like the carpet - or is it really not the color you're going for?  BTW - very pretty site.

My only issue if I get the aisle runner somewhere else is that I will have to find someone to put it down for me as my coordinator won't.

The carpet actually matches our pink and green colors...but I guess I just had my heart set on walking down a white runner, lol.

Thanks, btw..that picture does the site NO justice. I can't wait for prof pics that will make it look amazing!

I know this isn't related to your question. But, is that a castle you see through the window? If so, what a perfect place to set the window. And so much cheesy symbolism.  I love it! I agree with bvig the site is beautiful and I don't think you need a runner.

The carpet is so nice!  But if you really want a runner, have your groomsmen walk it back before you enter.  That is what mine did!

But also remember that when you are walking down the aisle to your future husband, you won't know or care what the hell you are walking on.  I would put a white runner in the category of things that seem really important before the wedding but that you won't pay attention to during the wedding or remember after the wedding.  That location is so gorgeous!  Focus on the big picture!

Yup...that is the castle. One of the reasons we love the site so much. We decided not to place anything on the altar because we don't want to disctract from that view :)

Wow - they do a great job with details at Disney.  The stain glass window is fantastic.  What a great view.

That window is magnified too so the castle looks great as you walk down the aisle.

Oh I also love the ceiling...here's a better picture

I agree that the aisle is pretty on its own. Also, you won't have to worry about dragging it with you if you have a train or your heels crunching through it since it would be over carpet. Could you affix smaller tissue pomanders on each row (you'd probably have to get a friend to tie them on, but it would probably be easy) instead of the petals? Then your altar/ceremony area ties in with the aisle, and you don't have to worry about the runner.

Beautiful venue.  Can you have the petals put along the sides of the aisle so that kinda makes your aisle runner?  I think that would be really pretty.  If you really want an aisle runner you can buy or rent it and ask a family member or close friend to place it for you.

Oh both of those ideas are good!! We are making the tissue pomanders for the altar so why not more...and we could use white petals on the aisle.

I'm an encore bride and we're looking at Disney for our wedding.  I love the WP and would love to get married there but am having the same dilemma.  It seems wasteful to spend that kind of money on the WP when they have some beautiful alternate locations.  Thankfully, we have some time to make a final decision.  I am thinking EPCOT and perhaps Italy.  However, DFi's family speaks French so perhaps that would be a better option.  Have you made any decisions?

@LacrosseBride...sorry I never saw this post!!

We got an updated version of our estimate after talking with both our wedding planner and florist.  Here's what we decide:

    1) Keep the lucite columns with vases.  My moh and I are going to make tissue pomonaders to place on the vases instead of carnation ones.

    2) The aisle runner they quoted me was cloth...we switched to a paper one that is only $75.

    3) We cut the petals by half...$200.

PM me if you have any other quetions...we are only spending the minimum that Disney requires, so it can be done on a budget!

I LOVE Disney.  I didn't know it could be done on a tight budget.  What is the minimum?

    Also, what is a pomander?

Have you thought about using silk flowers for your pomanders?  Michaels, AC Moore, and other craft stores have discount coupons.  You could get a bunch of friends to go to the store with you and pick up enough over the next few weeks and months.  They might hold up better than tissue.

@BellaMae- Disney's minimum expenditure Mon-Thur is $12,000. That would be everything associate with wedding day events. For us it was much cheaper than getting married here.

@Lacrossebride- We have but I love the look of the Tissue Pomanders. Plus my MOH is driving to Florida and is going to take very good care of them!

I suppose that's not too bad.  Our full budget is around $15,000 though.  So I don't think it's anything we could do since $3,000 really isn't enough to cover all of the extra stuff.
