I had my makeup done by a MAC professional for my girlfriend's wedding and nothing smeared, it looked great, and it stayed on all night. If you like your makeup artist, try buying some MAC eyeliner and mascara for her, or just go to MAC - they usually do it for free!
Have them use a eyeshadow canvas (they sell these at Clinique so I know they must sell them elsewhere) and then make sure they are using a waterproof/rubproof mascara. This should keep the smearing to a minimum. The canvas stuff from Clinique is available in many colors and keeps my eyes looking like I just put on my makeup after an 8.5 hour day of working with patients (I only wear makeup when I'm at clinicals b/c I hate wearing makeup to classes).
hi cyshas. did the makeup artist use pencil eyeliner? if so, then i would suggest that you ask the person to use gel or powder (with wet brush) to line the eyes. ever since i stopped using an eye pencil and switched to gel (bobbi brown or mac fluidline), the smearing went away. this is especially important for the lower lid -- do not use a pencil. instead, apply powder eyeshadow in matching shade with a wet brush (or use the gel eyeliner).
if you must use eye pencil, then i suggest using a sealant like the benefit she laq. it helps reduce smearing by sealing in the color.
it also helps to use an eye base. concealer works for me but there are some fancy eye base/primer out there. it will also prevent creasing.
lastly, your mascara is important. switch to either waterproof or budge-proof. my favorite is the blinc kiss me mascara. not only is it easy to remove, but i no longer have the raccoon eyes. hope this helps!
assuming that is is just your mascara smearing and not any other eye makeup you can't use just waterproof mascara. waterproof means it will not run if wet, but smudging is b/c of oils on your skin and waterproof will still smudge/smear. You need to use something like blinc kiss me, fiberwig, or kevin aucoin's "the mascara". Normal mascara just paints your lashes and it's the color the runs/smudges. The type from blinc, fiberwig and kevin form tubes around your eyes so they don't ever smear or run. At worst they might flake a little but that's easy to wipe off.
I love shu uemura volume precise mascara. it has been through smudging and flaking tests..i'm talking 36 hours even through sleep.
Thanks everyone, I'll try a couple that you mentioned above.

Hi, I just did my make-up trials. I noticed that within a couple hours my mascara or eye liner was smearing under an don the corner of my eyes. Does anyone have a suggestion for a better mascara product or something to prevent this? Thanks!
