I’m doing classical/jazz before the ceremony.  I have a string trio though where they will use their discretion.  Good luck!

What style/genre of music would you like? Or what feel do you want at the wedding? This is the first music people will hear and plan at least 30-45 mins of music for guests to arrive and take their seats. Better to have too much than hear the same 5 sobgs numerous times. I’ve worked in the entertainment industry and have given my sound tech abilities as gifts to help cash crunched friends out before and nothong is worse than running out of music. Do you like country, pop, jazz, classical? Playlists aren’t too difficult to create if you choose a style so it all meshes together. Do a search online you’ll find many playlisplaylists from other weddings. A cool thing ove done woth a couple was along with the reply card they asked for the guests favorite slow and favorite fast song title and artist. Then from the responses created their own wedding dance playlist. It was a huge hit. They took it a step faryher and burnt copies of the top 10 request list and added in special songs to the couple as favors.

Good luck

I’ve been thinking of what to play then, too…and for the beginning of dinner before the dancing starts…

I saw this topic as I’m sitting her watching A Turtle’s Tale with my daughter, and this song starts playing, and I was like ‘Aha! Perfect…put it on the list!’ It’s “Count on Me” by Bruno Mars…it’s cute and fun, and not a typical mushy love song.
