Hi everyone! I am in the process of booking my reception venue for June of 2016 and it is likely either going to take place in Oakdale (South Shore), Old Westbury, or Farmingdale. Given those three locations, I was hoping to get suggestions on Catholic churches in Long Island that are not too far from those towns. I am not from Long Island, my fiance is, so any help would be much appreciated. We are looking for either a cathedral or something comparable that is very grand and elegant and accepts non-members.

Hi there –
Thanks so much! I actually did! I heard of St. Killians and St. Rose of Lima was originally our choice since it’s my fiance’s church but we went with St. Patrick’s in Bay Shore which is closer to our reception venue and it absolutely gorgeous.
Thank you!!<br />Suzy

I was going to suggest St. Patrick’s Church. Just be warry, I have been to quite a number of their masses and the music groups are not the best so you may want to look into other options. Just a thought.
Where is your reception being held? Sorry to ask still trying to find a place for mine lol.
Congrats and Best of Luck

If you choose old westbury, Saint Dominics in Oyster Bay isn’t too far. We just got married there and its a beautiful chapel and they have an organist: stdoms.org. You do have to attend a precana class before getting married there and I think it’s a few hours on three Saturdays.
