It’s my FFIL’s retirement dinner on Friday and I want to get him a little something. Here’s a little description of him so maybe you guys can help me with some ideas as a gift. He’s 70 yrs old. Doesn’t drink or smoke. He’s actually sick where he has his good days of going out and sometimes he’s in bed with horrible pains. So not much outdoor activities going on. He likes to cook, gardening, him and FMIL go to the movies a lot, but I kinda want to stay clear of the gift cards. I want to try for something more meaningful. Another hobby of his are guns, but he has plenty. Lol.
My FILs have been so welcoming towards me and I really love them. I just want to give him something nice. Any suggestions? 🙂

Do they have netflix?
Maybe prepay a few months and pick movies out for them that you think they would like so they have a queu all set up. Then they can just return the DVD and the next one comes in as a surprise (works great if they are not computer people and if they are, even better since they can change the list)
If he likes to cook, a specialty box of interesting exotic meats to cook like wild boar sausage & elk burgers etc.
Does he get magazines for his interests? If not, getting him one for each hobby would be nice-especially since he has the time to read them now.

@ThreeMeers: I think they like to go to the movies just to get out of the house. But I really do like the cooking book idea. He’s Native American from Oklahoma so he’s use to eating exotic meats on the reservation. Lol. So I think it would be neat to have gourmet recipe for that. Cool idea. Thanks!
