You can also look at some classifieds on here or on craigslist to try and find people who want to sell their paper lanterns.
As for your reception dress, can we get more detail about what you're looking for? What's your budget for the dress?
I'd like to spend a few hundred dollars. I'm small framed... so nothing frilly- form fitted, strapless or spaghetti straps... we are very conservative, but i bought a pair of blue stilettos for the reception so i want a cute dress to show them off :)
You could look anywhere for a reception dress with that type of budget. Try Nordstrom's, Macy's, Dillard's or any of those type of places.
Are you sure that you don't want colorful lanterns? 
I'm having a May wedding in Atlanta, and we're getting paper lanterns (eventually). I'd love to split the cost with you! I'm going for the sort of thing in the picture though...
Whether or not that works, I've found that this site has the best prices on paper lanterns.

Ugh..Rocktsrgn- I wish!!! That would be great. I love your idea, but unfortunately, we are definitely doing all white. I am definitely going to look into that site, though. And if you decide to use any white, I'll definitely buy them from you :) Where is your wedding?
@Hannah - Our wedding's at the Smith-Gilbert Gardens, in Kennesaw. It's a new venue, so they're still getting used to doing weddings! It's fun, though. Where is yours?
Oh, and I love the short dress thing! I was thisclose to going with one, but ended up with a long BCBG dress, from Nordstroms. They have great options online, but I couldn't find many dresses in their store. But JCrew has some nice options, and they have their collection available to try on at Perimeter (or Lenox - can't recall).
rockstrgn- our wedding is at our church in buckhead and our reception is at a fairly new place in the castleberry hill art district called niche. i love it because you cang bring in your own food and alc (saved us major $$$)

I, too, amd an Atlanta bride, though we are getting married in North GA. I just purchased 50 cream-colored paper lanterns of various sizes and the 12-led battery-powered lights to go in them. The 50 lanterns and 50 lights totalled at $280 including shipping.
I ordered 17 12" lenterns, 21 16" lanterns, and 12 20" lanterns. I chose the cream color to try to offset the blueish white light that the led's emit. Here is the link below:

If the color ends up being "white" enough for you, then perhaps we could strike a deal! I can't imagine I'll want to keep 50 lanterns after May 8th =]
Have you checked on ebay? I just looked at what they have for sale right now and you can bid on 6 for $.01. Of course the shipping is 15$, but still it could be worth it.

ok, i did my first post a second ago and not sure if i posted it to the right thing? :)
i need a ton of white paper lanterns- different sizes- and online, i feel like they're all too expensive. my summer wedding is in atlanta and the reception is part indoor, part outdoor. any ideas?
also...looking for short dress for rececption..
i got a fab deal at running of the brides in nyc this year so i want to have two dresses. need size 0-2. they're hard to find online- any ideas?
