FI and I are both "beach bums" but does it make sense to go to Caribbean in first week of August?
Off-season rates are great, but roasting like a Christmas goose, not so much.
I'd love to hear where you've decided to go on your summer honeymoon!
Last week in August this year we are going Moon hopping:
Orlando to Niagara Falls (Canadian side) and last stop in Vegas where it all began sort of. FI lived there for five years and I lived there for the last year of those five years. So it's like a second home to us. 
Flights are booked but hotels are not, yet.
we're going to Washington State in July. We're from Florida, so we want a change of scenery and a chance to get away from the beaches. Our bed and breakfast is booked, but we still need to make arrangements for our flight and for whale watching.
We are going to Montreal in June. My travel guide just got here yesterday, I am so excited!
We are planning on going to Bora Bora, although we haven't booked yet >.< Time to get our butts in gear!
We're going to Australia to the rainforest and GBR. July is winter there, but because we're far enough north, the weather will be mild. We're not big into HOT weather anyway, so this will be the pefect time for us!
our wedding is at the end of the summer so we are going to Croatia (mid Aug-late Sept is supposedly the best time to go). We have wanted to go there since we first started dating (seriously we talked about how much we both wanted to go there on our first date!)
The Big Island in Hawaii in July. Hooray! I'm ready to get past the wedding and get on to the honeymoon! Bow chicka bow wow... haha.
Maui and Kauai in June. Haven't been on a relaxing vacation in a LONG time. Can't wait!
We are going to Tokyo! I live in Dubai right now with my fiance, there are beaches all around us. So we want to go somewhere different!
We're going to Jamaica in July! We just booked all inclusive resort through sandals.
Kauai in July & August. CAN. NOT. WAIT. We booked it in December or January, can't remember.
we're getting married in July and going on a Caribbean cruise!

I would recommend that you look into Bermuda if you are worried about the Carribean being too hot. It is an easy flight from the east coast, extremely safe, and has lovely beaches. Since it is off the coast of North Carolina, it is less hot than the islands in the Carribean. Have a great trip!
We're going to Bermuda in July- just booked a trip on cheapcarribean.com (5 nights at Fairmont Southampton + airfare from boston = $2000); a great deal, I think!
Costa Rica in August. I've heard that it's rainy, but still nice and warm. Haven't booked yet.
We are backpacking through UK & Europe!!!!!!! We won't be going till a month after our wedding in September to make sure Oktoberfest fits in nicely in our travel route. SO pscyhed.
And nope nothing booked yet. Through keeping my eyes on rates last year I've learned I'm going to get the best rates around May. So I've been keeping my eyes on airfare but going to get pretty active booking hostels, apts, airfares, ferry rides etc pretty soon!
Saturday June 19th wedding....leaving that Monday the 21st to Cancun!!! Woot!! (Like Zoecat) CAN.NOT.WAIT. lol!! Gran Caribe Real - All-Inlcusive Resort.

I think I booked it in Feb.
2 weeks in Kauai; FI family has a friend who owns a condo so we got a total deal on it.
we have the same timeline as s msmonicka.
We are going to Jamaica for 7 nights. I can't WAIT.
The FI and his mom booked this in like November or December.
we are leaving in August for two nights to South Beach Miami, then a week in St. Lucia....yea, its gonna be hot as balls, but i LOVE roasting in the Caribbean Sun. HAHAHAHHAHAHAHA
St Lucia! We booked forever ago....it was one of the first wedding tasks we took on because it was so fun to plan =)
We are going to Thailand in August-it's a wedding-moon. We are getting married there as well.

wow! all you girls are going to have an awesome honeymoon. my wedding is in july 31 and we are heading to disney world on August 2 to spend 10 days. we are so excited.
2 weeks between Maui & Kauai! We booked in December. I can't wait!!
To San Diego. Where Sea World is!! We want to play with dolphins. Just for one day out of the five. We're going from Aug 18-23. Flight is booked, but we have to choose from the many hotels there.
Sandals St. Lucia!!! We leave the morning after the wedding! Can't wait! :)
