Hi everyone!  Thank you in advance for your help and inspiration! :)

We are planning on doing a day wedding (from 1pm -6pm) on a Sunday in late Fall 2012.  We are trying to figure out what we should serve our guests for food and we are on a budget (a tight budget).  We want to make sure they all get enough to eat and are happy with the food too.  Any ideas on what to serve?  Ideally we would like to keep the cost below 40pp and more like 30pp. (is this a reasonable price)  Especially since that will not include drinks.

Also, if you have any suggestions on caterers in Upstate NY/capital region area, please let me know!  I need all the help I can get.

    Thank you! :)

Not from the area but what if you did something light like simple appetizers and finger sandwiches? It is small, intimate, and reletively inexpensive, and people can graze and eat as they are hungry. Even if you don't want sandwiches (depending on the level of formality) a bunch of appetizers usually are pretty cheap and can be even more fun and better than a full meal!

Thank you!  Yes, I think we want to do either light appetizers and a lunch style meal, which at one restaurant I found for about 25pp! :)  Or we want to do a heavy appetizers.  I actually live in the south, and down here they do more heavy appetizers than sit down dinners during the reception.  I am just worried that my family from NY and FI family won't understand that kind of reception... :/
