I attended a wedding a few years ago on the Sunday before President's day. It seemed to work out fine, but keep in mind, many people don't get the day off, so it's not automatically that convenient for everyone. My company gives the day off some years but not others, and they don't tell us until Jan.
most "office" jobs dont give this day off...atleast anywhere i have ever worked and anyone that i know.
But we are having a sunday wedding and people are traveling...but our decision is for religious reasons.
maybe you could pick another monday holiday like martin luther kings day or memorial day or labor day
Good luck!

Hi all! I have read a lot of posts about Sunday night weddings, but nothing covers my specific question. My fiance and I are looking to get married over President's Day weekend in 2011. We are throwing around the idea of having the wedding on Sunday night. The main reason we are thinking of doing this is because we are having the wedding in Oklahoma but all of his family and many of our friends will be traveling from New York, Virginia...all over. Our thought was that they will have to take a day off anyway to travel, and many of them will have the Monday of President's Day off, that the Sunday night wedding might make their traveling less hectic. Good idea or not?
