Sunflowers are the best! They're my favorite flower. I wanted to use them, but I thought they might be a bit too casual for me.
We're going to end up using them for our rehearsal dinner, so we'll have them everywhere. Here are some pictures I've used for inspiration:

Great idea! My photographer shared a picture of a centerpiece using sunflowers...and I plopper it into this post:

Maybe contact my florist (http://petalslane.com/ is her website) to see if she has more inspiration pictures involving sunflowers to share?
if you have a Trader Joes in the area- my friend ordered hers from TJ's and they were cheap and gorgeous! She did all diy sunflowers and shells (sounds wierd but looked great)
Using a few... I've asked all the women in my family what their favorite flower was, and plan to give each of them a mini-bouquet of whatever they told me, then incorporate all their favorites into my own bouquet --sunflower for my older sister, yellow rose for my late father, peach or white rose for my mother, green hydrangea for my little sister, in a background of some other roses. I'm a little worried about it looking too busy but I think if I keep to 3 colors or so it will be fine.
Mrs. Leopard- You used a pic from a photographer I was looking at! She ended up being too expensive but we love her anyway!
Yep! sunflower are pretty much the only flower we are going to use. Most of my inspiration photos are already above, but here are a few more
I love the idea of sunflowers and white daisies. I had a special request for a sample bouquet last week.

I hope to use some sunflowers, maybe in our centerpieces. Our reception will be in a lodge that lends sort of a rustic feeling, plus I started from a vineyard/Tuscany inspiration looks wise, so I'm hoping they can fit in somehow.
The pictures above are so pretty. Using sunflowers for wedding is very nice! Anyone looking for fake sunflowers....you can look into http://www.usifloral.com have some really nice ones at a cheap price. I got my wedding flowers from them.
Check out the pics.
I Love Sunflowers. If you look in the upcoming Summer issue of Martha Stewart Weddings, you will find our client's beautiful wedding. The Bride did sunflowers and I think they are grand.

Ooh, those are all beautiful (I like the one with white daisies, too!).
We do have a trader Joe's fairly close to here. I'll have to check in to that. I've mainly just looked online for ideas of prices but I still need to call local florists to see what kind of prices they'll have.
It's me again :-)
I had another question along these same lines: what do you do for the flower girl if you're doing sunflowers? Any ideas?
I love the idea of using sunflowers! =) They're so gorgeous, and they mean adoration.
Don't have any additional inspiration for you, but just wanted to let you know that I think your wedding will be beautiful!
@maybebecca- use a combination of yellow petals and sunflower seeds. it is stunning if you get the black seeds!

I'm getting married the end of August outdoors and am thinking about using sunflowers for my bouquet and perhaps having the bridesmaids each carry one sunflower with a ribbon on it. Has anyone else used sunflowers? Has anybody done a DIY bouquet with sunflowers? Do you have pictures? I'd kind of like to incorporate twigs/branches/woody vines of some sort, too, but haven't found pictures of anything like that.
Just looking for ideas out thereAttachments
