Yesterday I noticed there was a golf ball in my boob. I called the lactation consultant, and she confirmed it was a plugged duct. She stressed the need to get rid of it before it became mastitis. So, I nursed, nursed, pumped, applied warm diapers (awesome), and nursed around noon today, my boob was back to its squishy self.
But, I noticed a white mini-glob on my nipple yesterday, I think, and well, I picked it. I thought it was just dried milk or something. Today, nursing was incredibly painful on that side. I mean owwie city. DD is 6 months old, so we’ve got this nursing/latching down, which is I’m confused. (the plugged duct was an unfortunate result of a too-tight tank top)
Per Dr. Google, I currently have a olive oil-soaked cotton ball on my nipple. Any other ideas? Is this normal? I can’t call the lactation consultant until Monday, and I’m really hoping this is resloved by then!
Any advice is appreciated!!!
