Has anyone else had an issue with super-sharp ovulation pain? It is in my lower. left abdomen and it is a constant sharp pain that has been here all day! I’ve had what I thought were ovulation pains in the past, but they usually are a dull ache and they don’t stick around for what is now going on 8 hours. 🙁 I’m not even sure that this is what it is!
Also, I’ve never had midcycle spotting before, but I was spotting yesterday on cycle day 11. It kind of weirded me out. It wasn’t painful or anything…just something completely out-of-the ordinary for my cycles. I’m not sure if I should be going to the doctor or something, or if I’m just worrying myself needlessly. DH and I are on cycle 3 off TTC, I’m 31, I’m pretty sure it is impossible to be worried about an ectopic pregnancy at this point in my cycle…but OUCH. I just want to curl up and not move…
Has anyone else noticed that they have had this problem? Is it every cycle, or just sometimes? How did you relieve the pain and did you address this with your doctor?

Did you take a pregnancy test to rule out ectopic? My other thought is possible cyst? Hope you feel better soon!

I have had the same thing this month too (it is my first cycle on Serephene, therefore my ovaries are not USED to Oing every month…) and my dr. said it was normal. Try putting some heat on it (sort of treating it like AF cramps)

@mrs_pugetsound: I agree with Yellow.Clover, I think you may have an ovarian cyst. Have you ever had one? It’s a fairly recognizable feeling. Also, mid cycle spotting can sometimes be serious but is often benign. Looks like you are definitely gearing up to O! Good timing! Wishing you luck this cycle!
PS: Last thing. My friend on the here had true “ovulation spotting” the month she got her BFP! =) Not to give you false hope or anything, but it can happen!! Whoop whoop!

Don’t count out a cyst. Those are fairly common, and can be a pain if they burst.

Thank you guys for your responses! I’d have replied earlier, but I went home and went to bed last night at like 6 p.m. Ugh! It still hurts a lot today, so I’m thinking it might just be cyst. I’ve never had one before, so I’m a bit nervous. I’m going to make an appointment to see my doctor tomorrow morning.
Thanks for the answers (and the wishes for luck this cycle!!). Does having a cyst impede the ovulation process? I wonder if I still have a chance of O’ing this month if it is indeed a cyst?(*fingers crossed that this is our month!*). Good luck to all of you as well!!!!

I honestly have no idea if it impedes or not. I was having sharp pain throughout this cycle and thought maybe I had a cyst. Well I didn’t end up O’ing until CD44 from the same ovary I thought could have the possible cyst. So I think it was related. GL! Please let us know what the doc says.
