My hair is ridiculously straight too! I can curl it with a hot iron, use a whole can of hairspray, but it will fall flat within 30 minutes.

Thanks for this post and the pics. Do you know how hard it is to find hair inspiration for long straight hair if you want to wear it down? Mine wont curl or if it does, it doesn't last more than an hour. I reallt don't want to go the updo route but was looking for something a bit special for my wedding day. I appreciate those that can post photos. Thanks.
LOL, I *wish* my hair was super straight! it's more like, wavy random....not straight, not curly!
Ugh, I am the SAME way- I can't stand it! Do you have friends that always say they wish their hair was as straight? I get annoyed lol. I have yet to find a style that I think I could pull off that isn't up. My hair will look wavy if its pinned up loosely. But I love the down looks with the big waves. So far, everyone suggested extentions, which I expensive.
I have long, wavy hair, and while it isn't straight, it is still hard to curl because my hair is so thick, so I'm thinking about a wavy up do like the second picture LatteLove posted.
My hair use to be short, above my shoulders (Notice my picture from a year ago) but all I could do with that is keep it down.
My hair is super straight, too. THe best I can do is blow it dry with my head upside down and then put it in hot rollers for a while and then it gets really full but the curls turn into "waves" in a couple of hours.

Ugh I feel your pain!!!! I have SUPER DUPER straight hair and yes I get annoyed too when people with curls say they wish they had straight hair. Here's what I might do.....it's not a down style, but for the other straight-haired ladies.

I have super straight hair too. it stayed curly for my friend's wedding when I was a bridesmaid and it seriously took a can of hairspray. But Boy kept forgetting and kissing my hair and end up gagging. lol
Sorry, I am no help. Just wanted to sympathize.
I also have very straight hair, and want to wear it down. I really hate how I look with my hair up! I'm planning on doing a half-up/half-down sort of thing with a tiara. My hair doesn't hold curl well, but with enough hairspray it might work. One tip I've heard is to put some sort of curling gel in your hair BEFORE you curl, and then spray after for maximum hold.
I also have super straight (and flat!) hair, because of this I plan on having my hair up. This way my hair dresser can "fake" it looking nice. Or at least thats waht I hope! I would suggest if you want an element of down to do a half up, half down look. Those will still look nice without curls.

Any of you having any luck with finding a gorgeous down hairstyle that doesn't have curls?
My hair wouldn't curl under ANY circumstances and I've had some of the best stylists in the country try!
