Oh no! I'm sorry and I think you have every right to be upset.
But you did say it yourself, the weather does change. And you'll be able to spend the weekend with your husband regardless of if you get to go to CA or not. I know the weather this year has been crazy - we've had the weirdest weather I've ever experienced over here so I can only imagine what it's like for you guys. Whatever you do, if you can't go don't let it ruin your weekend with your husband. It sounds like time off for him is a very precious thing. I know it's not what you want to hear right now but later on you might.

I'm sorry you're so upset :( I totally, totally get where you're coming from. My FI only gets one week of vacation so I'd be freaking out too!!
The storm could be smaller in size. It could end up not hitting your area. Even if it does snow, it may be light enough to drive in, right? Can you rent a car with 4 wheel drive? Can you leave a day in advance or a day later? Try not to worry too much, the weather is alllways changing.
We drove to FL last year right ahead of a major ice storm that followed us down to South Carolina. We were ahead of it by like 12 hours though, so we weren't affected. The weather definitely stresses me out too, esp. when it comes to driving.

But also as littlemissmoo said, weather does change, so don't cancel plans yet! On our wedding day, the week leading up to it, weather reports were saying that it was going to be downpours all day. We ended up having a sunny, beautiful day.
I say wait it out, try to take deep breaths for now. Keep us posted!
I live in OKC also, well Yukon to be exact. I am really sick of this. My yard is all mud now & the fence is now falling because of the mud. They said on the news we have 4 potential winter storms in the next 2 weeks. I really hope they are wrong. You have every right to be upset, but I will do a sunshine dance for you to keep the snow away so you can get away!
@ everyone - Thank you for the support! I just can't believe it! It's so discouraging. I know I sound like a huge baby right now, but I've seriously never been out of this part of the country in my life and I am really looking forward to it. The fact that we are/were going to take this awesome road trip and I was going to get to see the ocean AND mountains for the first time was really special to me. I will be crushed if we can't go.
@ ing2foru - I hear you. This is completely ridiculous. We just don't get snow like this. EVER. I've actually complained about it in the past, how we don't get pretty snow, blah blah blah. I will NEVER do that again.
It'll be alright, okqueenbee! According to this forecast on weather.com, you have a good chance of not getting any snow/precipitation until the 14th. And even on the 14th it's only a 60% chance of snow! Things will work out. :) I know you're worried, but it will be ok. This storm probably isn't going to affect your trip at all!
Here's a thought, if it does snow will you be able to get out anywhere else? Even just getting out of the house and staying at a hotel for a couple nights would be better, right?

@ littlemissmoo - I'm sure we could.. That would be an option because I'm NOT just sitting at home for an entire week *sigh* It's not simply SNOW that worries me, but the snow/ice crazy combos that we've been getting. I know that driving west towards CA can be worse than here in winter time because it's higher elevation, and they will close the interstate in Flagstaff AZ under certain conditions..
I'm just hoping for the best.

Ah I hate snow too. It is a half-mile lane to my house down a mountain and when we get a snow like the last one (16 inches), we are literally stuck until the storm is over and we can get plowed out.
I also run an animal sanctuary and even though I have mini barns for the cats, I still worry like crazy. But there is one thing I hate more than snow and that is ICE!
I totally feel you on hating winter. I've not seen my fiance in close to 3 weeks because of all the crap weather we're getting. I've so had enough of winter.

bluespurrs - I can't imagine living up a mountain and waiting for someone to come shovel me out. That would be kinda scary! But even more than that, I can't imagine DRIVING on an icy or even snowy mountain road.. almost gives me a panic attack just thinking about it!
I so sorry!!! Im in Michigan right now and I know how bad winters suck! AND THEY DO!!!!!!! Actually im in the middle of a storm right now. Just hang on! Thats what im doing. It does end!!!!!!!!!

Thanks ladies for all the kindness :) The weather here is good now and we are not expecting any more storms in the near future so we are all set to leave on Sunday as planned!!!

I JUST found out about 30 minutes ago that we are supposed to be getting 2 more winter storms within the next 10 days. The second one is supposedly moving in NEXT weekend (V-day weekend) which is when we are supposed to LEAVE ON FREAKING VACATION!!!!!!
IF THE WEATHER IS BAD, THERE IS NO WAY WE ARE GOING TO BE ABLE TO DRIVE TO CA LIKE WE PLANNED ON!!!! I'M SERIOUSLY SO FREAKING UPSET I WANT TO BAWL AND I DON'T WANT TO TALK TO ANYONE BUT I'M STUCK HERE AT WORK AND I HAVE TO TALK TO PEOPLE FOR THE NEXT 2 HOURS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS VACATION FOR A MONTH. IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE OUR LATE HONEYMOON AND NOW IT IS POTENTIALLY RUINED. AGAIN. WE DIDN'T HAVE THE MONEY TO DO OUR MINI-MOON IN DECEMBER WHEN WE GOT MARRIED, SO WE HAD PLANNED ON FEB. HE IS ONLY ALLOWED TO TAKE VACATIONS CERTAIN MONTHS OF THE YEAR (PRIMARILY FEB & AUGUST) SO IF WE CAN'T GO NEXT WEEK IT'S GOING TO BE ANOTHER 6 MONTHS UNTIL WE CAN TAKE ONE. I WANT TO SCREAM.
I KNOW TO SOME OF YOU IT MAY SEEM THAT I'M OVER-REACTING, ESPECIALLY SINCE IT'S STILL 10 DAYS AWAY AND THE WEATHER COULD CHANGE, BUT WINTER THIS YEAR HAS BEEN ABSOLUTELY INSANE, I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE IT IN MY ENTIRE LIFE IN THIS PART OF THE COUNTRY, AND NOW WHEN IT MATTERS MOST IT IS COMPLETELY RUINING MY PLANS.
