Our best friends are coming over to watch the game on Sunday; we also do an annual Superbowl cook-off, and this year, it's chicken wings!  We're having:

    • four types of chicken wings
    • cheese dip
    • salsa
    • guacamole
    • fruit salad
    • veggie tray
    • Boston cream pie

What's on your menu?  Any great recipes to share?

Oooh great one! We were just working on our menu last night sorting out the grocery list! It looks like the weather is going to be good, so we're planning on getting our smoker ready, but also having a back up plan just in case Mother Nature changes her mind ;)

    • Smoked meats: Brisket, chicken, sausages, chicken wings (I'm going to make different sauces for the wings, yum!)
    • Chili (This is our Plan B, I'm going to make it Saturday since it's best the next day anyways, and if we don't need/eat it, we'll freeze it)
    • Coleslaw
    • Meatballs
    • Spinach dip
    • Mac N Cheese (my friend is bringing this)
    • Buffalo wing dip
    • 7 layer dip
    • Some kind of meyer lemon dip that my friend makes
    • Home made pretzel bites for dipping ;)
    • Banana cream pie
    • Brownies or better than sex cake

Ya, and there's only about a dozen of us. Superbowl is just really an excuse to eat! LOL!

I should not have read this, my lunch is in a half hour and I am now so hungry!

I am wicked excited for Sunday, as a huge football fan I look at Super Bowl Sunday as a holiday and it is even better when my Patriots are in it!

We are having: Buffalo chicken dip, 7-layer dip, veggies, fruits, little smokies in the slow cooker, taco ring, spinach dip, lots of chips, chili and chicken wings.

And for dessert: football shaped sugar cookies decorated for The Patriots and gingerbread cookies shaped like and decorated like Patriots jerseys.

Hurry up Sunday and GO PATS!!

Do you ladies have any recommendations for a slow cooker Buffalo Wing recipe?  FI loves hot hot hot wings and I swear I saved a recipe title "Sticky Slow Cooker Hot Wings" and now I can't find it any where and my internet searchesa are coming up fruitless.

Or anything buffalo sauce inspired that is super easy lol?

we aren't having anyone over, but I'm going to make chili and buffalo wings for just us!

I am going to use alton brown's hot wing recipe, I've never made them before:

Everything sounds so good!  We're going to my SO's family's house for the superbowl, and his mom always makes a TON of food.  I know she always makes wings and sweet & spicy meatballs, but I'm not sure what else she's having this year.  I'm planning on bringing over buffalo chicken dip!

@bakerella:  It is taco meat rolled up in crescent rolls but instead of rolling them in individual rolls it gets organized in a ring and then you put all the toppings like lettuce and tomatoes in the middle.

I don't think I explained it very well  Embarassed This link shows it better.

@ lunathea: You mentioned you wanted buffalo sauce inspired recipes.  Have you ever had or heard of buffalo chicken dip? It's spicy and creamy and delicious!  Eat it with chips, crackers or celery.  www.allrecipes.com/recipe/buffalo-chicken-dip/detail.aspx

Just saw this tonight, and just did our shopping today.  DH promised that if the Pats were in the superbowl that we could have a party...wooo hooo!!  We're having 6 people coming over and like @bakerella, we don't really have couch for everyone to sit on.  I know my friend and I will get couch seating because we are both almost 30 weeks pregnant!!

    Here's our menu!

    • Meatballs in the regular crock pot for subs
    • Pulled Pork in the smaller triple crock pot for sandwiches
    • Veggie Chili for my friend and her hubby who don't eat meat
    • Velveeta and rotel dip
    • Lipton onion sour cream dip
    • Baked layered bean dip

I'm not sure what anyone else is bringing, but I think there may also be buffalo chicken dip and cheesecake bars (for a little something sweet).  I can't wait for the fun and the game!

    Go Pats!
