Some silly random stuff has been going wrong lately in planning our wedding, and a coworker actually asked me this week if I believe in signs ...like God or the universe doesn't want us to get married! I'm not really a superstitious person, but I thought I'd ask you all...SHOULD I KEEP PLANNING MY WEDDING or are these 'signs' that I should stop? haha. Disclaimer: I'm not taking these really seriously, I just thought it'd be fun to see what the Hive has to say about it.
So like I said, silly random stuff...(followed by a pretty big one)
1) Over the holidays the bridal salon where we ordered my and my girls' dresses called and said they'd shown us the wrong fabric swatches so we had to either change the dresses or the colors of the wedding...oh, and the dress was being discontinued a week later so I had to decide QUICK.
2) A few days later my FI went by the jewelry store to check on his ring, as it'd been more than 5 weeks since we bought it in store and they were to call us when it came in. Alas, they had no record of the ring order! As in, we paid for it but who knows what happened after that. We worked it out though and they ordered a new one, no big.
3) The next day we went to get our e-pics printed for our STD and we'd forgotten to bring the contract from our photogs giving us full rights to all images. Because we didn't have a photo release form, the drug store guy was refusing to give us the pics, or even let us sign the waiver accepting all responsibility for it...? Even after we called the photographers it took 20 minutes of arguing before he let us sign the waiver. I completely understand the laws and stuff and him not wanting to get in trouble, but still.
So I had mentioned this all to some coworkers before, in a "good for me, all that stuff happened and I kept calm toward my vendors...no Bridezilla here!" way, so they all knew we'd already had some issues.
4) THEN, a week ago, we went to check out the construction progress on our venue. They completely stripped the room and were adding on a HUGE amount to the building, plus we wanted my mom to meet the event coordinator. So what was a happy, upbeat, exciting meeting soured pretty quickly when we left and realized one of the contstruction workers, working to improve the building for our wedding, FELL OFF THE ROOF and died. While we were in our meeting. For our wedding.
Obviously this stuff has nothing to do with us per se, it's more like vendors dropping the ball or a freak construction accident, but still. When my co-worker heard that last one, she shuddered and asked me if I was sure I wanted to keep going with the planning!
Soooooo what do you guys think?
