So my dad & I decided almost 6 months ago to do one of those surprise father-daughter dances. (Just in case you haven’t seen any, this is a great one! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0u1FZhMA88g) My dad was diagnosed with Parkinson’s last year and has been down in the dumps ever since. He’s been so excited about this dance that he’s practicing often, which is bringing both his spirits up and helping slow down the Parkinson’s. We decided not to tell ANYONE besides my mom & sister, not even my FI, so it would be a complete surprise on the wedding day.
Last week, my mother-in-law saw a video online of a mother-son doing a similar dance and suggested it to my FI. I don’t think they’ll follow through as they’re not the best dancers in the world, but now I’m wondering if I should tell my FI about my plans. I don’t want them to do the surprise dance since we’ve already choreographed ours and have been practicing it for months, and I don’t want him to be mad at the wedding if he or my future MIL feels that we “showed them up”.
Would you tell your FI or would you let it be a surprise at the wedding??
