The only thing that would worry me is flower allergies. I assume you don't have specific worries? Then I'd ask them how many flowers come in a bunch and buy happily!
Can you call them to get a little more info. It seems like a good way to save money and get some neat flowers but I'd want a little more info about what's in a typical box. Also they may, just may be able to work with you a little bit if you talk to a nice person on the phone.
The only reasons I would think you shouldn't do it are if you really want a specific type of flower or colour.
You say you're not concerned with colour...if that holds true for flower type too then I would go for it. They're flowers...they'll be pretty no matter what you get! :)
We actually kind of did this. We DIYed our flowers and ordered most of them from our local grocery store. The custom order was for white tulips, which were the main flowers we used. On the day before the wedding, we went around to various stores and bought up other white flowers of different kinds (spray roses, mini carnations, mini callas, rannuculus). For me, this worked out okay--but we were looking for white flowers, which were pretty easy to find. Also, I was really laid back about the overall look for the flowers. I'd say if you're at all worried about the colors or styles, you might want to reconsider the order.
If you're flexible about what they send you, then I say go for it.
Although- having DIYed my own flowers, I felt it was important to practice ahead of time and if you don't know what you'll be getting, you can't practice.
If you're not concerned about the color or specifics of the flowers than go for it! It looks like an awesome deal!

I have been looking for cheap flowers to DIY my own bouquet. I came across this: http://wholesale.floriculture.com.au/retail-ready/florist-packs/growers-box-small-2.html (I'm in Aus) - 40-80 bunches of flowers for $108. This of course will give me more than enough flowers for a bouquet (massive understatement) and would allow me to use flowers for decorations also, which I wasn't going to bother with due to cost.
Only problem is the whole "surprise" element. I wouldn't know what I was getting until a few days before the wedding when they arrived. I'm not too worried about colours as I'm having a fairly casual backyard wedding and I would want any flower centrepieces to look homemade like they are straight from the garden anyway. But I'm still worried! Would you risk it and order flowers not knowing what you were going to get?
