That sounds cute! It doesn’t have to be a big, huge display (wow, fireworks?!) for it to be special. I think the pizza groom’s cake sounds really original!

Well I am surprising FI with a groom’s cake at the rehearsal dinner. It will look like a giant reese’s peanut butter cup.

I am also giving him an album with my boudoir pictures in it. I have been sneaking around organizing the boudoir session so hopefully he never figures out that I am up to something!

I almost organized some special cupcakes at our wedding with our baker with the Cubs logo on them (his favorite baseball team). I was going to order one for every guy at the wedding. Sadly, the only reason it didn’t happen was because I got so busy and forgot! Shame on me. Oh well. I’m saving the idea for a 30th birthday surprise 🙂

Erin- According to wedding wiki:

Boudoir pictures, also known as intimate photos, are a very popular gift for your fiance or spouse. The word “boudoir” can be translated to mean “a woman’s private dressing room, sitting room or bedroom.” These photos are sexy photos of you, usually taken by a professional photographer. They can be taken in your own home, a hotel room or in a studio.

You can dress in anything you feel comfortable in, anything that your fiance or spouse would like to see you in. Suggestions include: a favorite shirt of your fiance, various items of lingerie, swim wear and undergarments. Boudoir photos are not necessarily nude photos, and most of the time they aren’t. The illusion of nudity is often seen as more sexy than actual nudity. http://wiki.weddingbee.com/Boudoir_pictures

Here’s a link to a photographer in my area who does Boudoir (my photographer only has password protected galleries). Oh and you probably don’t want to open this if you are at work! http://intimates.leahstaffordphotography.com/

I am going to get a piano player to play for the cocktail hour and for dinner hour. The catch to make it special for my finace is that I am going to have the limo driver drop us off at the recpetion site 20 minutes before people come in and we are going to sneak in through the back. I will have the piano player there playing and my fiance and I will be able to see our reception room completed alone and enjoy a dance with no one there. It to bad b.c I think many couples dont get to see the room before people get in there…

I am also doing a grooms cake…I don’t know of what yet though! I need to figure that out…eek!

I want to do something special but since I can’t do something as expensive as fireworks I will probably do lot’s of little suprises the days leading up to the wedding.

An idea I really (Mrs Yorkie!http://www.weddingbee.com/2009/05/17/cure-for-the-common-cold-feet/was making a little care package with socks that says something like “incase you get cold feet” which I think is just darling!

Groom’s cake will be the surprise from me.  It will be a USC college football cake with a helmet and jersey.  He really wanted to marching band, and we looked into it, but it’s way out of our price range.  He would be floored with surprise if I had the marching band for our entrance, sigh, if only I was rich.

You could rent a fun car for the getaway car.

my FI is a die-hard University of Tennesee fan and loves their song ‘Rocky Top” – as a surprise I am having some friends play it on their guitar and banjo as we leave the ceremony. We won’t practice with this song as the rehersal – he is going to be so shocked and so happy. I cannot wait!

I am horrible at keeping secrets for surprises.  His biggest surprise will probably be my dress.  I may get him one of our favorite coveted bottles of wine.

I’m surprising him with a groom’s cake and I’m hoping to sing a song to him at the reception…  Still trying to think of other things (definitely cannot afford fireworks either!)

I’m thinking about doing a groom’s cake.  I’m thinking about a General Lee car cake, or maybe cupcakes ala Bakerella.
