I'm so ready for another vacation and I'd be so happy to not have to work, so I think that would win over my control freak tendencies with packing my own bag. :)
Although I love planning, I love dates and travel planned by my fiance even more. I'd love all the thought and planning that would have to go into planning a trip!
That is my FI's favorite commercial! I'm thinking of reenacting it for him.
I'm a planner and I do pack carefully.... but the only thing I REALLY need is my contact case, my license/id, a credit card, and cash. Everything else can be bought on the road. Lets go!
I think all I'd need to have a good vacation is a credit card, my swimsuit, some sunglasses, and a few books!
We took a surprise trip to Lagoon (theme park near Salt Lake) when I was a kid. It was great except we neglected to pack swimsuits since we didn't know where we were going (my parents just told us to pack for three days). I remember being really excited to see where we would end up (it was a road trip), but being really disappointed about not getting to go to the water park portion. Just make sure everyone packs appropriately.:)
my parents use to take us on surprise trips when we were younger, and DH and I have been known to get out of work on Friday afternoon and decide to take road trip and stay somewhere for the weekend. We love taking random unplanned trips!
He can NEVER surprise me so if he were able to pull it off and I could actually leave right now, wisk me away! Although I am a control freak and would have to double check the bags... I just know he would leave all of my underwear at home if I didn't.

So, I was just watching one of those Disneyworld commercials where the kids are surprised at the airport that they're going to Disney RIGHT NOW!
Would you ever like to be surprised with a vacation?
I don't think I would want to. For me, the anticipation is half the fun, and if it was really a last minute surprise, I'm kind of a control freak, and don't know that I would trust that someone packed properly for me.
