Has anyone surprised their groom the morning of the wedding with a limo/car for him and his groomsmen?
The guys (Groom, Groomsmen, Dads and Brothers) are going to a barber shop the morning of our wedding for a straight blade shave and fresh haircut. I was thinking I would rent a limo or party bus to pick them up, but I want it to be a surprise for them to make them all feel very special. Has anyone done something like this before? I’m thinking I should at least tell someone (his Dad maybe) so they all don’t leave early, and to ensure everything goes smoothly.

weatherbug: Only for our guests. Ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception is all at the same place. Me and my girls will be at the venue for the whole day to get ready. Our guests will have a shuttle bus to/from the hotel and venue that afternoon/evening. But nothing arranged for the guys. My Groom will need to drive our car to the venue so that we can go to our hotel (different from the guests) after the reception.

soontobemrsKB92615: Are they going to be leaving from the same place to travel to the barbershop? I would be concerned that one or some of them will be running late, and then they’d all end up late, or some of the guys won’t get the experience. Maybe you could have some surprise food and drink or gifts waiting for them at the barbershop.

I like the thought behind it but my concern would be with their vehicles being left behind. I personally don’t like leaving my vehicle just anywhere.

soontobemrsKB92615: I would say have them all meet at the venue and have the limo waiting there for them so they could all have their cars at the venue still.

lynnielou33193: I second this suggestion because OP says that they will need a car to take them away at the end of the night!

I didn’t even consider having them meet at the venue! The original plan was for them to meet at my soon-to-be in-laws (some are even spending the night there – boys slumber party!!), go to the barber shop, then come back to my in-laws house to finish getting ready before heading to the venue for pictures. The venue is an estate property 15 minutes or so out of town. I don’t think I could convince them all to drive to the venue and leave their cars without sounding suspicious.
craigslistgirl: Great suggestion to have food/drinks at the barber shop. I’ve arranged for champaigne/beer/whisky with engraved glasses at the barber shop when they arrive.
