50 cents - packets of personalized wildflower seeds which fit cos I teach botany and we are getting married in a garden.
A potted seedling, I think is going to cost about $0.70 per person.
Well, there's a great blog post on this right now .. in the weddingbee blog.
Unfortunately, my MIL ordered favors without discussing it with us - she got chocolate truffles from a specialty shop in town that cost $4.25... per guest! I nearly died when I found out, but luckily she paid for them, or I would have told her to cancel the order. I had orignally budgeted $1-2 dollars for the favors.
Our DIY "photobooth" will cost about $2 per guest. However, that includes the cost of the printer, which we can use or sell afterward, and the photos for our guest book, as well as the photo favors we will give to guests.
close to $1 ribbon, candle, votive holders, sand and shells are free, not sure about the flower yet...
About 60 cents/guest. Dark chocolate covered almonds in a little bag meant for suckers and a card thanking our guests tied on with ribbon.
We are having a professional photo booth. It will double as our guest book- but it is still expensive- almost $1,000. Divided by our 200 guests- $5.00 a person. But I really really wanted it so we cut in some other places to make it work!
Zero dollars. We're not having any.
Before we decided on no favours, our budget was $200 for 80-ish people. So $2.50 per person.
Gee our photo booth is only costing us $400. But the pics will be black & white. Perhaps yours will be in color?
if you are not too worried about having your favors personalized, you can get your or your FH's favorite candy and tie some ribbons around it with a note to your guests thanking them for coming. thats probably the cheapest way to go without completely skipping favors. depending on what kind of candy it is or how much you decide to do will make the cheaper or more expensive. a little more work than a candy bar but way less expensive for sure.
We're spending about $10+. We got our favors from Diane of DK designs for $8.50 per box + tax and we're buying cookies when we get to Maui. Mr. fell in love with those favor boxes she creates and I couldn't say no. (We only have 30 people at our wedding.) But if you're having a big wedding and want to spend a bit less, then I would go look at Michael's because they have some cute items there...
Just over $2.00- It's a roll of nickels (for our Las Vegas wedding) rapped in fabric and ribbon. We're only having 20 guests, though.
