We are in the middle of new car shopping so I would appreciate any comments you may have if you own/drive: Honda CRV, Nissan Rogue, Mazda CX-7, Jeep Compass, Chevy Equinox/GMC Terrain...whew I think that's it!

Any comments you have would be greatly appreciated, bees!

We have a GMC Acadia, we love it.  We have five kids and they all seem to have plenty of room back there.  We didn't try any of the others snce they're a little smaller than we needed.

I have a 2004 Honda CR-V and just hit the 100K mile mark. I love that car! Never had a problem with it, drives great and I can get pretty good mileage too. I love the versatility; the seats are really easy to rearrange and SO MUCH fits in that car.

It also has an aftermarket hitch and towing package so it can pull a trailer or be pulled behind my parents' RV. Our mechanic said the installation was pretty easy, and the car handles it well.

I drive a Chevy Equinox and its a 2005 that just passed the 90,000 mile mark and I have never had a single problem with it since i have owned it. Not ONE thing! I love all the room I have in it and my daughter loves that it has a bigger backseat that most vehicles and the cargo area is great. I wish it got better gas mileage (only about 20 mpg) but it does everything I need it to. It also handles excellent on crappy road conditions without the AWD kicking in. My daughters dad drove it on a 2000 mile road trip and was pleasantly suprised with how my car handled and he drives like a maniac and is use to his 4 door 4WD truck

I have a mazda CX-9, I LOVE IT! We dont have kids but it has been a great vehicle so far. It is my 2nd mazda, they seem to hold up well and have great styling.

I do like the Acadia but it's out of our price range.

The 2010 Equinox just felt HUGE to me and we test drove the CX-9, which is techinically bigger.  Plus I had a very hard time seeing out the side, which was really disappointing.

I just bought 2008 Kia Sportage and while it's technically NOT a crossover, I do love it.  At any rate, I was glued to www.edmunds.com for reviews on every single make and model of car I was interested in.  Might be a good place to check out.

We are looking at maybe a new car soonish, and the Kia Sorrento definitely deserves a look!  We went to a car show in December and checked out quite a few cars...

I drove a Highlander for awhile and LOVED IT. I want one so bad and it will definitely be my next car. I know a few people who have theirs and have nothing but good things.

I'm a big toyota fan though in general. They keep their value a long time and I've always been incredibly pleased with my toyotas and in particular their customer service.

I used to drive a Chevy Silverado and now I drive a little hatchbax Matrix. The Highlander feels like a solid sized SUV in my hands yet handles much easier than larger SUVs like Tahoes (my mom had one and i'd drive it too) or the Silverados or even my husband's Explorer. Drives more like a car IMO but with the feel of an SUV and good visibility

I also am a Honda CRV owner - albeit mine is much older. Absolutely love it, but I'm partial - had three Honda's I've driven over 200k on each (one drive to 300k with engine replacement back in HS).

I also test drove a Nissan Rogue 2 years ago and felt the tranny slipping on the brand new model they let me take for a spin. Very dissapointed.

We probably won't be deciding for a few weeks!

@Sarah71710- during the test drive with the Rogue, the salesman said "Do you smell that?  It smells like oil burning."  I smelled it way before he brought it up.  Then he got on the annoying side of trying to sell it to us.  I'm also partial to Hondas as well :)

We just purchased the new Honda Crosstour. Love it is an understatement. We test drove the GMC Terrain and I could've sworn that was THE car, but then My Fiance convinced me to look at the Crosstour. So happy with my decision.Laughing
