I am trying to think of some budget friendly ways to decorate the hall. I am thinking of some white tulle in what I consider the typical wedding reception set up. I am wondering if people think it would look ok to swap out the tulle for matte white dollar store tablecloths sewn together. Obviously no lights with plastic tablecloths lol
Kinda like this:
Thanks for any input or ideas!

Tulle will be way cheaper. I got mine less that a dollar a yard, it’s super wide, and you don’t have to spend time sewing it together.

And it is also far more attractive than plastic. You can get it wholesale or use coupons for Joannes and Hancock fabrics, etc.

Tulle or any cheap fabric for that matter would look best. Plastic table cloths sound like an insane amount of work compared to doing it with fabric.

@FutureMrsRoos: Remember to look on http://www.adhuntr.com for used tulle. Many brides sell all their decor after the wedding. This site shows all the ads on Craigslist. You can narrow your search to ads from Canada.

My mom just bought some extra-wide tulle from Fabricland for my veil. $20 for 4 meters. Breaks down to aproximatly $1.67 per ft. which isn’t too bad a price.

I don’t think you have Hobby Lobby in Canada, but they have an online store. In my area, their prices are cheaper than Joann’s, Michaels, etc. and they always offer a 40% off coupon on thier website. The tulle would be cheaper and look better than tablecloths (not to mention easier!)
