Weddingbee boards

I need advice! My parents and FI's parents are hosting our engagement party, but only financially. The party planning committee is basically me and my best friend, with some possible MOH action. I came up with a "Love is Sweet" theme with the party being centered around drinks and DESSERTS! Since we have such a definite theme, should the invitations reflect it even though I am doing them online through paperless post? Also, should the decorations go with my wedding colors?

Any advice/opinions are welcomed and appreciated! Cheers!

olours definetly dont have to reflect colours of the wedding. No one  will remember that you matched the colours..  think about previous engagment parties, did you remember any of the colour schemes?

So i vote for do it how you want to! use the colours you want to use!

I say try and go with the theme of "love is sweet" to the extent that its still fitting to the purpose of the party...to celebrate your engagement! I guess if taken too far...might be seen as a kiddie-type party. Just my 2 cents. Congrats on your engagement and I'm sure your party will turn out beautifully!
