Just wanted to give you all a heads up if you’re looking for a cake or cupcake vendor in the GTA.
I used Sweet Garden for my wedding last month and they were a nightmare. The worst vendor / company I have ever dealt with. Extremely unprofessional and they were impossible to reason with when things didn’t go as planned and ordered.
To start, they were hours late in delivering my cupcakes. When I tried to call them on my wedding day, to see where they were, they didnt’ answer their phone and their voicemail was full. My wedding coordinator was so annoyed at them, as they arrived the same time as I did, and instead of getting the ceremony ready, my coordinator had to deal with them, listening to them lie about how they were told a new delivery time and location.
When I called Sweet Garden on the delivery time a few days later, their response was: “We did you a favour. It was a hot day.”
Umm, seriously? The room is air conditioned, and if you wanted to delay delivery, couldn’t you have called to let someone know?
When I tried to discuss it further, they hung on me… Classy!
Anyway, when the cupcakes were finally delivered, there were 10 missing. That means 10 people didn’t get a cupcake. Again, when I called Sweet Garden on it, they said they must have been stolen. They refused to admit that they possibly could have forgot 10 cupcakes. Instead, they blamed my wedding guests, who were all outside for the ceremony, and wouldn’t even have had access to where the cupcakes were.
My biggest complaint with them is what was actually delivered. I spent extra money to get purple cupcakes, with a bow design at the top, instead of a cake topper. What I got was blue, with no bow.
Their response? “You asked for purple, and purple is what you got.”
I attached a photo of my cupcakes. Apparently this is their definition of purple, and this is their definition of what a bow should look like.
When I tried to get money back for the missing bow, I spent extra money for, it was a rat race. They wouldn’t respond to my phone calls or emails. I finally had to call block my number and demand a refund within a few days.
All in all, they were the most unprofessional, rudest people I’ve ever come across. So, please, save yourself tons of hassle, and AVOID Sweet Garden like the plague.
