Oh geez..I can’t even pinpoint one. My FI is such a charmer, I swear..charming statements roll off his tounge on a constant basis…sometimes it drives me NUTS!! lol.

I do feel lucky though, more at the things he does than the things he says.

I don’t think it was one specific thing he said but anyway… He was never one to  consider marriage or anything that goes along with that (the house and kids and all that) and had never been in a relationship longer than a few months.  Now, all girls want to be the one that changes that guy from a charming, mysterious (for lack of a better word), ladies’ man (again, for lack of a better word- but definitely not a player!) to a charming man that’ll make them the exception.  And I actually was the girl that was the exception.  He’s still cynical and has trust issues with the world but he’s told me that I make him think he can actually have those things, he wants them with me.  Gone are the “dreams” of being alone and living in an RV.  He wants to get married and live together and he said, once a long time ago, he’d even have a kid with me.  So basically, the sweetest things are the things like that, and that I make him happy, that I mean something to him πŸ™‚

@LadyInGreen:  When we were dating in highschool, he looked me in the eyes and said (after whining about how unattractive I felt): “If you could see yourself the way I see you, you would be conceited.”I wrote that on a notecard when I got home. Still have it somewhere Wink Gees, that was 5-6 years ago!

~And of course, when we were early in college he pulled me aside one night in the car under the stars, and on the topic of marriage he said, “I want to discuss my plans with you, dear…” We both teared up.

Gosh there are so many things. I mean, literally. Him telling me he wants to spend the rest of his life with me first pops in my head. BUT I want to use something other than that, because most of us have heard that on here with lots of the bees being engaged/married.

A recent one… Just a few days ago, we was cuddling in bed (it was super early like 6 AM) & he said “I just can’t help but get excited when I touch & hold you.” & I said what do you mean? He said “Its like a candle inside me lights up when I hold you!”

Around the time I first introduced my FI to my daughter, he was over while I was reading a story to her.  It was a long one, and I figured he was probably getting bored so I apologized and said it was almost over.

He said “I could listen to you all day. I don’t care what you’re saying, it makes me happy to hear your voice.”

For some reason, that has made me melt more than any other compliment I have ever recieved.

The first time my fiance said “I love you”, he said: “I love you. I want to have children with you, and grow old with you.” That was on our fourth date, and that was when we both knew that this was it, forever.

My SO was married to a wretched woman for 8 years and went through a messy divorce while he and I were dating…he said to me yesterday (our anniversary) that I taught him how to love again…I cried. πŸ™‚

This may sound weird to many but it sticks out in my mind as a very sweet comment…

One night I got up at like 3:30AM because our dog was getting sick.  When I finally came back to bed, my FI said to me, “You’re going to be an amazing mother to our children, you’re such a nurturing person.”  I thought he was asleep but apparently he heard me taking car of the dog towards the end and thought because I was taking care of our sick furbaby, I’d be a great mom.  Weird I know, but very sweet in my opinion.

I can’t really say one, but this really stuck out to me the other day!

We were driving in my mother in laws old beat up truck with our dog. And talking about if we won millions, what we would buy ( lol, dorks I know!). And I told him, that we had to buy a lotto ticket that day, because I read quote the other day that said, “Play your luck every day, because you could be walking around lucky all day and not even realize it.”

And so he looked at me puzzled with love in his eyes ( Just quickly though as he was driving!) and said,

“Honey we are very lucky everyday, we don’t need to win millions to know that.”

The first time our parents met eachother, we went on a fishing trip. Each family has their own small fishing boat.

Before I got on the boat with my family, FI (then boyfriend) started giving me a bunch of fishing gear, and I said, “don’t worry about it, my dad has everything I need in his boat”. He responded, “yeah, I know, but I need to show your dad that I’m a good provider”.

That just melted my heart, knowing that it was important for him to impress my dad. I am such a daddy’s girl.

The first thing that popped into my head is definitely less romantic than the other posters, but that’s ok πŸ™‚ I’m in grad school, and I had hours of interviews to transcribe that I was NOT looking forward to doing. My fiance simply said, “Hey, don’t worry about it. I’ll do them for you.” He stayed up all night and finished them. It was the kindest thing ever! (All my grad school friends totally hate me for it.)
