It looks like it already has a slight sweetheart. I'm partial to sweethearts so I say go for it.
Dress twin! Finally found someone else who bought her!
I'm also thinking about making the sweetheart a little deeper... Here I am in the sample:

Here it is after I "altered" it in Paint:

It's a very, very slight change, but IMO makes a world of difference.
And for the record, even if you don't lose weight you look fantastic in it.
I think it depends on if the sweetheart style looks good on your body type. For me, I found that sweetheart dresses were WAY more flattering on me, so I chose my dress knowing I would have it altered. Like yours, mine had a very slight dip to begin with.

I altered this dress to a sweetheart--
Before:
After:

@Prewitt: Haha I highly recommend trying alterations in Paint if you can- it takes a bit to get it right, but at least I have a ballpark idea of what a change would do to the dress before I ask a seamstress to do something that can't be undone.
I think it would look great as a sweetheart!
PS - You do not need to lose weight! You look beautiful as you are.
Yay!!! Dress twin! The David's Bridal model pics of the dress are awful! I'm glad to see someone else fell for her! :)
Thanks for the advise. I'm thinking I'll probably go for it. I don't want to regret "saving the money" when it's such an important element of the day.
Anyone know how much it will cost?
I would be happy to help anyone visualize an alteration by digitally altering a photo? just pm me and I will send you my email..
I took my dress to the tailors to have altered to a sweetheart neckline but they haven't giving me a price as of yet. I just dropped it off last week so I am a little nervous. I really want a sweetheart neckline. This is my regular tailor so I normal take my stuff to him so I am not nervous about his work. How much did it cost everyone? I am just trying to have an idea.
Oooh, perfect topic! Now that I've been staring at this picture for the past 48 hours straight I'm considering giving my dress a teeny bit of a more pronouced sweetheart too. Or am I over-analyzing? What do you guys think? PS. Stine - I love your dress! I think it would look fantastic as a sweetheart but it's beautiful as is too.

I have a lace David's Bridal Galina dress and I'm not sure if I want to alter it to a sweetheart neckline. Let me know what you think and please post pics of similar alterations? PS: I know I have to lose weight.
