So now that the honeymoon is less than 6 weeks away (yikes!!) I have yet to buy any swimsuits! I have 1 that I'm not too crazy about already, and I will probably bring it as a spare, but I think I would like to buy 2 more.

I know someone wrote a post on this already in the full figured section, but I can't find it for the life of me!

So I figured I would start another one! Does everyone want to share their favorite stores/websites for swimsuits!

I'm a size 16 on the bottom and probably 12-14 on top so very pear shaped!

Have you looked at Unique Vintage?

I wear a 2 piece because I'm different sizes. I went swimming last weekend for the first time in about 25 years. I just got over my body image issues and went for it.

I have no looked there, but I am bookmarking it as we speak! The only thing that I am really worried about are my thighs! I hate them, they are huge and well to be honest bumpy, gotta love that cellulite :-(

I like Land's End...they allow you to mix and match which is nice. I'm a 12 on the bottom and an 18 on the top, so it's really hard for me to find suits, but I found one there!

These are the suits I bought this year all at a great price. I  had been wearing the same suit for a few years and figured it was time to get some one's.

I bought one similar to this from Fashionbug.

I bought this one at old navy $11 for the top and $8 for the bottom

I also bought a swimdress but I returned it. Although I liked it I still thought I was too young for it, but the other day I saw a girl wearing one and loved it and it made me sad I got rid of it.

You know, I tried lands end once, and the bottoms wouldn't fit me at all! I think I have like extremely wide hips or something. But the tops fit great for me!

Check out Torrid!! On their website go to clearance and click on swim. (If you just click on swim under the regular tab, nothing will come up) Most of their stuff is half off I believe or if you have one near you just go in and check it out. In the store they had a special going buy one clearence item get one 1/2 off!

    Hi MsBrewer,

I'm a new bee, but I wanted to chime in because we have the same wedding date and the same body shape/size  Smile

I found this Juicy Couture suit at Nordstrom for $60.  I just got the regular XL and it fits great.  It's really flattering on.  It has a detachable halter strap and it's a few inches longer on me than on this model... so it's quite a bit more modest, but still really cute!

@MsBrewer: Their fit is pretty good, I typically wear a 16 on the bottom and I go for a size 1 there. I did buy a size 0 in my bottoms  though because they did not have a 1 in the style I wanted and they aren't terrible looking.

I was in this situation a couple weeks ago too.  We're going to Barbados for our honeymoon and I was like "OMG, I haven't worn a bathing suit in YEARS!"  I ended up buying black bottoms from Lane Bryant...they're super comfy, high-wasted briefs (so they lock and load everything in place, if you know what I mean! lol). Then I bought some tankini tops from Torrid, because the Lane Bryant tops were just a little big for me, in regard to the girls.

The Torrid stuff should be on sale, if still available, and I thought they ran a little on the smaller size, but that was probably because of the recent Lane Bryant larger bra cup experience I had.  Also, Torrid's bathing suit bottoms are much more low-cut then Lane's.  I'm not a "low-rise" kinda girl though and I felt like it was hitting me right where I wanted it to cover.  I like to be all smoothed out and locked in, muffin top is NOT an option for me! lol

If you're into the dress-style bathing suits, to help feel more secure about your thighs...I would try Lane Bryant.  They had a lot and they're cute.  They are a little heavy, meaning in weight and take while to dry, but they're a great option.  Also, price is a big deal too....one of the bottoms I bought at Lane was like three times as much as the Torrid stuff, but I'm sure it'll last a long time.

Hope this helps, and I hope you have a fabulous time on your honeymoon!  Just remember that you're there to celebrate your love and he loves you no matter what brand/style suit you wear!   Smile

I loooooove the Miraclesuit from Nordstrom. Also, it depends on the cut but I also like Old Navy swimsuits. I am top heavy and smaller on the bottom so I find that I always have to go up a size to fit my DD's but my bottom is a 14/16.

Maybe this is just an Australian thing but have you considered board shorts? I am a size 22-24 and I feel the most comfortable in boardies, I usually wear a nice tankini top that shapes my top half thou as I have a definite hourglass shape and the boardies cover up my thighs which I am very self conscious about... citychic.com.au should have some on their site as the new summer range has just been released here :)

I am so glad MsBrewer made this post. I have bookmarked so many different sites.  I am a size 18/20 and last summer I purchased a few pin up style suits.  I have never been more comfortable!  I like to actually swim when I am at the beach and that style holds your girls in.

I love love love LOVE Target swim suits and they're pretty cheap (look online) right now. And they're pretty easy to return if need be. I just ordered several:)

I love the Target ones too. I got a bottom and a top from there. I have also got a top from Kohl's junior plus section online but those run small.

@CindyRelly: I haven't had problems with the junior section at Target. I normally fit their XXL stuff. But I haven't tried a dress from there yet. I just wish that the regular plus size section at Target in the store was a bigger selection because lately at the Target I go to it is only like 4 or 5 racks total.

Just an update I posted raving about Target suits which I do still love my halter suit from there... but I ordered a few more tankinis for my honeymoon and tried them on and there is NO WAY my boobs will fit in them even after I lose my weight....
