Are they the actual prints that are messed up? If so it may be the photo developer lab's fault, not the photographer's (although a thorough photographer should have checked prints before giving them to you). If they are digital proofs on a computer screen then it may also be a problem with your monitor calibration - try looking at them on a different monitor. If there truly is a porblem then I would contact the photog and tell them what is wrong and give the example of the photos you liked for them to match in style. It should be easy to fix.
Any photographer worth their paycheck should fairly easily be able to fix this for you. It's either an issue with the editing (they could be outsourcing to someone different or new) or with the printing. Just talk to them and hopefully they can go back and revisit the images and give you more of the look that you were going for.
I agree with above. Could be the printer - Also, you shouldn't compare what you see on your computer to the print - they are different mediums to view your photo and there are way too many variables to be accurate.
Are the prints your final custom prints? Did your photographer choose these, because it sounds like this is the first you are seeing your photos. So I am assuming they are proofs. If they are proofs, I wouldn't worry about things too much. Things such as color correction are fine tuned for final-custom prints. For example, if the bow tie was blue and the color is now red, then yes, this is a problem. If it's a different shade of blue, say french blue to dark blue, IMHO, you are expecting way too much. As for saturation, could be the printer, could be personal preference of look . But remember, the purpose of proofs is a quick and easy way to view photos.
If your agreement/contract states that you are getting final prints then I would talk with your photographer and I am sure things can be fixed. If they are proofs, don't sweat it & enjoy.

wondering if this happened to others:
we picked our photog b/c we loved the sample weddings she had on her website + she did my friend's wedding and the pix turned out wonderfully - they were natural and really captured the moment.
we got our prints and everything seems overly touched up: e.g. groom's bowtie is a different color all together! colors are oversaturated. we're hoping it can be remedied but wondering if this happened to others and how they got the photos they wanted (other than going with all black and white pix which actually seem to have turned out ok)
