I’m not sure about off the rack but if you run out of luck and start to look online, a PSA to avoid Natasha Millani 😉

I was about to suggest ‘Market City’ area near Central/Darling Harbour but I haven’t actually been there in about 6 years. How about Birkenhead Point? There are a couple of shops there that do formal type dresses, although for me I wanted a very specific colour so we couldn’t find anything from there.

Otherwise from bridal stores you can do a rush order for dresses that aren’t off the rack, but I think most long dresses are >$250 (not sure about short).

Newy02:  I’d try places like Myers and DJs first – they have the mid year stock take sales starting now so you might be able to get a bargain.

Newy02:  I made the same mistake, and have just ordered my bridesmaid dresses from http://www.weddingoutlet.com.au

I paid the express fee of $15 per dress, and am hoping my dresses will arrive safely within the next 6 weeks as the website states!

hmmm… i wonder if your username might mean that you are located somewhere outside of Sydney like I am. I found amazing off the rack choices on Hunter Street, there was a pop up bridal shop there last week with tons of choices.

I’d look at retail stores- sheike, forever new, review, seduce, alannah hill etc.

oh, I know some Aussie brides that have gone with dresses from places like Cue and Review and they’ve looked amazing. Might be worth checking out Polka Dot Bride and looking at the vendor listings after each wedding recap.

Bumping up this thread!

I bought my bridesmaid dresses at MyFashion located 91 John Street, Cabramatta, Sydney, they were $199.

I had 3 bridesmaids who were sizes 4/6, 8 and 14/16. They all liked 1 dress they tried on with thick chiffon straps and empire waistline which flattered all 3 body shapes. It was a relief because people kept on telling me to buy 3 different dresses of the same colour which would’ve been a bigger headache for me.

Dresses at MyFashion cater for asians as the full length dresses had shorter hemlines compared to western chainstores and boutiques. They generally have majority of sizes in stock of the dresses you see displayed on the walls. Only 1 dress did not have the size in the colour we wanted so it had to be ordered, they took around 3 months which I was still okay with since we still had a lot of time.

Ive seen numerous sizes and good stock at Sydney stores that I’ve been to:

  1. Brides Blessing in Wentworthville
  2. Sweethearts Bridal in Blacktown
  3. Smilk in Dural and Windsor
  4. Dream Bridal Boutique in Cabramatta
  5. Bell Bridal in Cabramatta
