@Loribeth:yes they def push those dresses. im not overly fond of the pninas with the see-throughness. i think they are pretty raunchy for an occasion as formal as a wedding. look more like lingerie to me. some of her other non-see through dresses are nice though

Isn’t she her in-house brand? I don’t think you can get Pnina Tornai’s elsewhere.

(They’re so not my style–thank the Lord, because they’d put me in hoc!)

@Loribeth: I’ve heard from people who have been to Kleinfeld’s that they basically make you try on at least a few Pnina Tournai dresses whether you want to or not.

I’ve stayed away from them so far, but may go at some point just to have the “NY dress shopping experience”.

yeah you would think your groom would love it… but my fiance thought it was inappropriate. and he’s  a pretty liberal guy.

@Loribeth: I’ve noticed that dress a lot! I wondered if it was really that popular to wear something so untraditional. I mean, they are beautiful and fashion forward…just not really my style!

I personally find pinina dresses too over the top for me.  Whenever a bride tries them on on SYTTD, I find that they are never my favourite.  They have too many bells & whistles for my liking.  And believe me, I am no prude.  I like cleaner lines without so much flash.  I know I shouldn’t throw the word “tachy” around, but I think many of them come off as “attention seeking” gowns.  In a nut shell, I think pinina is a little over-rated for my taste.  Just my opinion….actually does anyone have some pics of pinina dresses that aren’t outrageous…I would love to see some classy/elegant ones…

On SYTTD, I’ve seen several brides opt for a white/ivory layer to be put under the bodice so it doesn’t look so “see through”. You can still see the boning though so it’s like a corset.

having tried on some panina I will give her kudos for the quality of boning.  The dress was very well made. But weird.

@retreadbride: I love that dress!  It seems much lower key than the dress the PP mentioned.

But yes – even FI noticed the reappearance of that dress!  He never sits and watches an ep with me, but usually is around, so he mentioned once: “Does everyone try that dress on?”  haha!

i’m pretty sure she is their in-house brand. she is often at the store and comes out to meet the brides. i must say, her dresses are definitely not forme, but i’ve heard they are very well made. i’m not into wearing a see-through corset on my wedding day….or, uh, any day. i’m definitely a less is more kind of girl when it comes to most things, and certainly when it comes to wedding dresses. but for someone who is looking for a high drama and bling factor….she certainly delivers.

Everytime someone tries on her dresses all I notice is BOOBS!

@pb and j: The see through corset is just so… inappropriate feeling to me. You can be “sexy” but you can do it in a classy way.

Personally, I feel the only place a see through lace corset belongs is in the bedroom!
