FH and I have been talking table name ideas, so far we have come up with bands we have seen or favourite albums (we are big music fans). Anyone else like to share what they are planning on or what they called their tables?

- Wedding: September 2014 - SPRING VALLEY COUNTRY CLUB
Our wedding is Cinderlla Themed, so the table names are characters from the movie. I’m also going to do character description cards on each table just so it’s clear what we are doing. I like the idea of the bands.

We had Table Names that were done after the various neighborhoods in the City we lived in. Underneath we had 1-2 sentance staiting their significance. ie. So and so, where we went on many sailing and paddleboarding adventures.
It made it really personal and people loved it, even some going around to see what all of them were.

We did all our own stationary etc, using a little motif of a bass guitar and a penny farthing bike to represent us. He is a bassist and slimly built, and I love vintage bikes and am short and round, so the two pictures together sort of have the same proportions as us when we stand side by side.
We called all the tables after a bass which FI has owned and a bike which I have owned, so we ended up with names like “”Sabre & Omaya”. We didn’t expect people to get the theme (some did), we just liked the sound and pattern of the names.

Could you also have a number, too? We went to a wedding that just had names, years ago, with over 200 people there. In a dimly lit ballroom, nobody could find their table, and guests were circling around, since numbered tables usually are layed-out in order.

My FI and I are have a literary wedding so we’re naming the tables after our favourite novels 🙂 we were going to do our favourite love stories or literary couples but couldn’t think of enough hah

We did one long table since we had a small destination wedding, but if we had needed table names, they would have been mountains that are significant to us. We’ve had a lot of adventures on mountains, including getting engaged and married on them.

We had airport codes and our escort cards were little wooden airplanes so they had to fly their plane over to their airport.

- Wedding: October 2014 - Brussels, Belgium
PABride: Good idea! I went to wedding recently that had records to mark tables, yet the musicians were people my friends and I had never heard of so we had no idea what the albums even looked like. In a large dimly lit room it was a challenge to find the right table.

- Wedding: May 2014 - Smithfield Center
Our wedding was Disney-themed, and our escort cards were Fast Passes so we named our tables after rides at Disney World.

- Wedding: June 2014 - Gold Hill Gardens
We named our tables after scientists (equal numbers for men and women) and sat ourselves at the “Marie & Pierre Curie” table. We had quotes from each scientist at each table.

My husband and I love to travel so we named each table after a different place we have visited together. I thought it turned out great!

BellaBeau: We are having several “literary” elements in the wedding, so our table numbers are either going to be our favorite literary couples and/or books/authors.

bettybubble: we are having 80 guests so they should be ok to find their seat on named tables, but this is a good point so I’m going to number them as well, thanks 🙂
