I’ve put chocolate card into an Ikea Tolsby frame, and want to cut out the numbers from satin material, and stick it onto the card. I want a rich, luxurious feel to it.
The problem is that the satin is not easy to cut neatly, and I’m a perfectionist, so it’s bothering me.
Does anyone have any ideas?
FYI, we will be having a picture of us on the other side.

Maybe use a tealight, and just hold the satin high enough not to scorch, but low enough for the heat to melt the edges. this will seal them and then they wont fray.it works with organza, it think it also might work with satin.

I don’t know if this would work, but what if you starch and iron the satin first?
Or you could use a fine paper, like this one: http://www.paper-source.com/cgi-bin/paper/item/Gold-Swirls-on-Cream-Fine-Paper/3104.080/100145.html

Thanks everyone, those are some great ideas!
@kellybell: I really like the idea of using the fancy paper! The satin might be too fussy for me, so a pretty gold cardstock might be the way to go.
