I am having a small wedding, around 30-40(at most) people, so I will only have 3-4 tables besides the head table. Do I need Table Numbers and Escort Cards or can I just use place cards?

thats a tough one....are you allowing people to sit with whomever they would like since it will be an intimate wedding? if so, i dont think you will need it.

If you're planning on doing place cards, I think that would be enough. If it's only 3-4 tables, it won't take that long for people to look through the tables and find their name (probably no longer than it would take people just to find their table number when there are 25 tables).

I would use place cards for that size.  There are these incredibly adorable ones on etsy by cuddlecreature.

Place cards would be fine I'd think. If you just do place cards make sure they are big enough to read from several feet away- you don't want to make it too tough for people to find theirs and wind up making several laps through the tables.

@ PaperCrane; Thanks for the advice, I had not thought of the readability at a distance!

@ Arachna; I will deffinately check that out!

I think I will go for place cards because there will also be families of four and I don't think it will be hard to find seats and I just don't want my geuts to think it's improper not to have Table #'s & Escort cards.

we're having a small wedding (less than 30 people) and we're planning to do placecards, no escort cards.  But we are naming the tables and including a seating chart in the program so people know which table to go to.  But yeah, I think it's fine to only do placecards
