I’ve noticed that the standard size table runner is 108″ long. My tables at my reception are 96″–will it be okay looking if the tablecloths are to the floor and the runners only hang off the side about 6″ then?
Also should I get satin or polyester? My tablecloths are polyester. I’m trying to picture it in my head and I think maybe satin would look better for the contrast (??).
Input greatly appreciated, I’m just so tired of making a million different decisions with no help from the FI. Thanks!!

I had the same “problem” for my wedding. The 108″ runners looked fine. I ended up doing satin chair sashes for the runners instead because the regular width ones looked too wide. They are normally 12-15″ wide. Most banquet tables are 30″ across, so basically half of it would have been taken up by the regular runner. I preferred using the satin to give it some extra zing. I used efavormart.com for my sashes/runners and got them for $1 each plus shipping. Good luck!

You know, that makes perfect sense! I measured it all out and I think a normal table runner IS too wide looking for how I envisioned it so I ordered the satin sashes to use as table runners and saved over $20.
Thank you, you just made my day! 🙂

Anyone know where to get table runners at a good price for hire in the Baltimor area or online? My theme is orange.

I ordered mine online from http://www.tableclothsfactory.com/tablecloths-Table-Linens-Chair-Covers-Sashes-s/28.htm — they were quite cheap, and the quality was fine.
