Hi Bees, I recently posted about when to start DIY projects cause I am about 14 months out and was encouraged by bees that I am not crazy for starting this early, especially considering the fact I am pretty much making everything decor related for the wedding!
Phew! So I am not a crazy bridezille!
Now! How did you bees pick and choose what to work on? Did you just pick a project you knew you had to have and hop on it? Or was there a methodical method to your DIY madness like ceremony decor first, then centerpieces etc.
I have over 50 DIY projects I want to tackle and have created pinterest boards to organize my thoughts…now I just need ideas on where to start!

I started with things that stored easiest first. So I didn’t end up with something huge and bulky that I had to find somewhere to put for 8 months. Then I would prioritize. What MUST you have at your wedding, then the ones that are less important to you so if something happens and you cant do much for a whille, then you dont have to panic because the first times you did were the most important to you.

I have started my STD’s so far. We want to send them at a year out and with getting them made and addressed and everything I think starting now is good 🙂 Also because of my location I have to order all of my supplies and everything for all of the paper things and centerpieces online, so I am starting that as I find the best prices. But I will be working on moving myself and my 3 animals across the world in the months prior to the wedding, so I want everything done WELL in advance! 🙂

I would start by tackling the project that is most difficult and will take the longest. Designate a whole year calendar and mark your DIY start dates and deadline, otherwise it might fall under the cracks. With DIY projects, you’ll have to search for best prices and compare for your DIY’s. You can easily go over-budget with one thing here, another little thing there, etc. Trust me….Happy Planning!
