I'm having a hard time envisioning that, do you have a picture of your dress? What are your BMs wearing?
I think blue shoes look gorgeous and dramatic, though, I'm planning on wearing them!
I don't think it will look tacky, but I just think you wouldn't be happy with the way it looks. I wanted to do that for my floor length gown and our colors are green and gold. Just the little bit of blue that peeked out of the bottom looked weird with the colors. I think if you did it with a shorter dress, it would throw off the color and scheme you are trying to communicate elsewhere. What if you incorporated a little bit of blue in bobby pins in your hair or something small like that? Perhaps something in your jewelry?
I love yellow and blue together and my girls carried sunflowers and had a gray/blue dress and I was very happy. I think it would look just lovely but I'm definately biased.
I, personally, always loved the look of sunflowers in a blue glass vase. If you find a way to incorporate the blue as an accent, ex: ribbons on programs, ribbon around bridal bouquet. I think the blue would be fine. Although, If you are only have brown and yellow I think it may look a little off. (In my opinion.)
You could also help balance the colors by wearing a pearl necklace with a blue brooch to go with your shoes. Kind of like this one from etsy . Hope this helps.

I think tacky is not really a word that is applicable here. ;) I do think that blue shoes with a tea length dress would be lovely, and if you really commit to your other colors of yellow and brown everywhere else, a pop of blue would be beautiful and dramatic (or it could make a great accent color if you find you need one elsewhere). Blue and yellow are a great color combination, and brown is a neutral so I don't see any issue with the combination at all.
I agree with Marigold...you can use blue as an accent color with the yellow and brown. Were using yellow and blue ourselves with a little bit of white here and there. I think blue shoes with a short dress would be super cute! good luck.
How cute is this short dress bride that Anne Ruthmann shot!

Thank you so much! After talking with Mr. Dizzy, I think we decided to add blue as an accent.
Unfortunately, I don't have a dress picked out, or my bridesmaids dresses picked out either. But, hopefully, with the right shade of blue, it'll all work out in the end.
D.Marie, you're right! That dress is super cute
Thanks again for your very helpful comments!

Hi Bees! I haven't started shoe shopping or dress shopping yet (still trying to get all of the details worked out for the color scheme, location, and whathaveyou). I know what kind of dress I want - a strapless tea length dress for a semi/informal outdoor wedding. Our colors are yellow and brown (I love sunflowers, which is what we're using, and his favorite color is brown, so it all worked out), but I wanted to wear blue shoes for my something blue. Would that be tacky because of the colors we chose and the length of the dress? Has anyone done anything similar?
Thanks!
