My colors are black, ivory, and hot pink. I have seen some really pretty pictures but everything in them seems so expensive. I don’t know what I can really do to not make my wedding look tacky with these colors.
I’m planning on having black chair covers, with no sash, black table covers with ivory napkins. For my centerpieces I was thinking of eiffel tower vases filled with clear and hot pink jewells, and then tree branches at the top with hanging crystals and candles and rose petals scattered around it.
I’m just realy afraid that people are going to be like OMG she just threw this crap together and didn’t plan anything even though I spend all of my extra time on the wedding. Do you ladies have an tips on what I can do to help make my wedding look more elegant. Oh, the ceremony and reception will be at a golf club which is beautiful itself, I just need a little extra help. Thank you.

I don’t think it’s tacky at all and I love those colors! What about a black/ivory damask overlay? I feel like damask always makes things more elegant…i would also consider maybe not doing the hot pink jewels in the vase, just clear and black and then have the rose petals that you scatter be hot pink…

I was worried about the black chair covers and table clothes would be too much. It’s not really in our budget to purchase/rent damask table covers.

I think you can pull it off. But the black chair covers and black table cloths might be a bit much. Do you need chair covers? Im not a big fan of them anyways– too much material! Maybe you can put that money towards something else. If you do decide to do chair covers maybe have them match the table cloths. Or do black chair covers and napkins then ivory table cloths!

We’ve already paid for the chair covers. I like the dark elegant feel but I don’t want my guest to think it’s depressing lol

Keep the black chair covers but switch to ivory tablecloths.

I don’t think it’s tacky but it does sound like a lot of black. How would you feel about non-black tablecloths?

We had very similar colors! We also had black chair covers and black table cloths!

It’s not tacky if you do it right. I would def work on the centerpiece to make sure that brings in the elegance and lightens everything up. For example, if you have a tall, pretty vase/candelabra, and lots of ivory flowers, it would look really nice. Bellebride’s centerpiece looks nice. I can’t really picture the eiffel tower thing but if you have an example and it looks nice to you, then I’m sure it’s fine. If you are not in love with it, then look for something else. As far as colors go, everything will look fine 🙂
