That's a beautiful dress for an amazing price. I would pay the $50, which is really such a small amount of money, to have your dress fit properly.
I don't think having your toes peeking out would be a huge issue, especially if they were cute!
Shoes showing can look great dpending on the style of the dress. Your dress is gorgeous, but with that long train, shoes peeping out may look a little out of place.

if you will be asking yourself for the next 6mths if you should have spent the $50 on the longer length then the answer is yes - do it.
beautiful dress btw!
@eloping: I agree!
if it bothers youthen yeah change it, I don't think anyone will say "ew that's tacky!" though
If you look at the first picture on the dresses site you can see the models shoe peeking out a little bit which makes me think that that is the intended style.
I don't think it would look tacky but if you aren't comfortable I would get the longer dress.
However just a warning, I have heard nothing but horror stories about David's Bridal alterations. Maybe you can find someone in your community who could fix it.
Thanks for all the advice girls & for the compliments on my dress!
@JessyLovesJaCoby: The length is what makes the dress beautiful. I say go for the longer version.
Welcome to the Hive! What a beautiful dress! Did you like the shorter look with the shoes? That is what really counts.
I don't think your shoes should show unless the dress is specifically meant for that. I would get the longer length.
That's my dress too! It's such a gorgeous dress!!! I think you should order the longer gown. It's not that much money and I think it'll look a lot better.
I think if the shoes are not like, a crazy bright, out of place colour, then of course! Or even if they are one of your colors, go for it! :D
Beautiful dress, btw!
I would get the longer length. Actually, scratch that, I would wear cute flats...like I wanted to. haha! But yeah, I'd order it longer to wear the shoes you love without feeling self-conscious.
I'd either pay a bit more to get the gown in a longer length or go with a flat as some of the PPs have suggested.
If it's just 50 bucks, I'd just get the longer one. But I also don't think it's a big deal if your shoes show!
I like the look of shoes peeping out. If you're going to spend hundreds of dollars on a new pair of shoes anyways, why would you want them hidden by your dress?
I tried that dress on in a too-short version and it's not pretty when it's too short. The organza doesn't lay right and it just looks droopy. And remember, a crinoline will make it even shorter.
Buy the longer length. It's worth it.
My dress was a little too short, so my shoes were showing. Looking at the photos, I really regret not having a longer dress. I think it looks less bridal and less elegant.
The shoes show on the model. Why not? Seems like it's just the style of the dress.
it's a lovely dress. you didn't mention how much of your shoes will show. if just your toes peep through, i would say that would be okay but if it is much shorter, you may want to get the longer one. that dress style and material looks like it needs to be floor length. nothing worse than an ill-fitted dress.
i think it would be worth the extra $50. you got such a great deal already.
As someone who has trouble finding clothes long enough all the time, I would pay the $50 and be thrilled that it could fit the way I wanted. All too often I have to skip buying something because it's not available in long.
I wouldn't call it tacky though, just might not look like it fits that well.
@Firie: i agree with this, for the most part.
if it's a question of a tiny bit of toe-peekage, i wouldn't worry about it too much, but if your dress is going to be several inches too short in heels, i'd definitely get the longer dress. a dress that style without the train would look ok a couple inches above the ground, but i think it would look a bit silly dragging a train on the ground behind it while too short in the front.
I had some pretty severe toe peekage, but I wanted it that way. I'm 5'2 and I ordered my dress in the petite length because of the design on the bottom of the dress. Had I ordered regular length, I would have ended up chopping 6 inches off and all of the beautiful embroidery. SORRY! I did have super cute shoes on, and then put flips on at the reception and the dress was brushing the floor at that point. For whatever reason I can't get the stupid photo to upload! I'll try again later =)
Definitely pay the $50. It can be hemmed if it's too long, but if you don't add the extra length and then decide that you want it, there's nothing that can be done.
i'm guessing that the dress, if you wore heels, would be only a few inches off the ground. to me, it would be obvious that the dress wasn't fit properly.
It depends on your style...I plan on buying some sparkly Jimmy Choos, so you'd better believe they'll be making an appearance!
Edit-I think it's OK if they are peeking out a tiny bit, and you show them off for pictures and stuff...but not that the entire shoe is visible for the entire night, then it's obv that the dress isn't long enough. :)
If it is just the toe like the model, I tink you are fine with the standard length. After all, that's how the model wears the dress. However, if your whole shoe is showing, it may look funny and too short.
go with cute flats! this is a great way to be comfortable on your feet and have a beautiful dress.
It sounds like you are second guessing it, so go with your gut! I don't think $50 is unreasonable for a longer dress... you may find cheap heels to go with it!
This is probably super late, haha. I think it depend on how much of your shoe is showing. If it only goes down to your ankles, then definitely get the longer dress. If not, then its up to preference. Keep in mind that if you get the longer dress, you may need to have it hemmed, which then will end up costing you more than the original 50 bucks. Also, personally, if only a little bit of your shoe is peeking through, I would keep it as is so that you can move around an dance a little more easily.

I bought my dress last weekend & absolutely love it. Before leaving the store I asked for a pair of shoes to try with it and realized the dress is going to be too short to wear with heels. My bridemaids convinced me that paying $50 for the longer version of the dress would be silly & I should just wear wedding Tom's. I agreed, but now I regret the decision. I can still pay extra and get the longer version, but am getting a lot of "why can't your shoes show?" when I talk to other people about it. So, should I get the longer dress or should I allow my shoes to show?!
