I’d go with 4 oz, not too much but just enough for one batch!

flautadeoro:  I just looked in my cupboard and all of my store-bought spice jars are around 1.5 to 2.5 oz. So if I were a guest at your wedding I would probably think that a 4 oz size would be nice. I don’t think you need to go much beyond that.

As for the favor per person vs per family, that depends. I’ve been to a few weddings where the favor was something edible, like chocolates or candy or something, and not very expensive, so those were laid out on the table as per person. At other weddings I’ve seen where the favor was clearly more expensive, it was per couple/family.

It’s one of those things that are taste specific. I eat pretty bland (digestive problems), and don’t eat meat, so I have never made tacos, in 36 years of marriage. I think you’d have trouble only having one per family, but I’m sure you don’t need one per person.

Any kids?  I’d do one per adult, and something else for kids if there are any.  I think most of the single use envelopes are 1.25 – 1.5 oz.  So I think 3 oz  to 4 oz is fine.

i’d go with 3oz or 4oz. i generally only use half a packet of seasoning when i do make tacos, because of a sensitive stomach. so 4oz would last me a while.
