OMG! That's terrible! I can't imagine waiting THAT long & not being able to tell! I'm planning but I can't tell because I'm waiting on the official proposal (and I know he has the ring). I'm so sorry that happened. I hope it gets resolved soon so you can continue planning. Good luck & make sure to update!
@teach123: Oh, I'm so sorry this happened to you! I would be beyond disappointed.
I have a Tacori engagement ring. I think it took less than 6 weeks to receive it (if I remember correctly). They told us 4-8 weeks, I believe. I can't imagine having to wait 5 months for it!
I hope you're happy with your ring when you do receive it, though. I love my ring and wouldn't trade it for the world ... I really hope you get the same feeling!
Again, I'm sorry you've had to deal with this kind of problem ... I hope you get it soon!
I'd probably demand a refund and take your money elsewhere. There's no way you should have to wait that long. My ring was custom built from scratch & took a few weeks to arrive in store.
that is absolutely ridiculous. taking into account any custom work, production time, shipping - max should be 6-8 weeks. this is very not ok. demand to speak to a supervisor and get answers and if they don't meet a deadline, get your money back.
That's so so so terrible!! I would definitely call and demand a refund. Have you asked to speak to a manager? That's a ridiculous wait- seriously! I like their rings but after hearing that story I'll probably steer clear of them. Good luck and keep us posted!!
Wow. My Tacori came from California to Canada and took like, 4 weeks. I don't know if thats a Tacori issue or a dealer issue, but I would see which party is responsible and deal with them directly.
How strange. Both my wedding band and e-ring are Tacori and both were in my hands within 4 weeks of the order.
This post scares me....my ring is going to be Tacori and SO hasn't even received the center stone yet. I could be waiting a long time :(
That sounds awful. I hope you get it soon. Did you order it through a jeweler because I would work with them to get it figured out or demand some sort of compensation.
I got my Tacori ring in just over 2 weeks from ordering it.
Dang. I'm glad we didn't do Tacori with that report.
I agree with PPs- get your money back and have a replica made. Mine was a replica and the quality is better than the stock original.
Hi ladies,
I have an update. So it looks like both the store that we bought it from and the Tacori company screwed up. First of all we apparently weren't even in the store's records- somehow our order was deleted! The manager assured my fiance that this has never happened in the fifteen years that he has worked there and that he has also never had problems with Tacori (just our luck that it happened to us). Then Tacori did have my fiance's name, but somehow all of the information that they had about the ring under his name was incorrect and they said they were really confused. My question is if they were confused why in the world didn't they call the store we bought it from to figure it out? Totally inexcusable.
So they told us that we have to put in the order again and start from square one. They have no idea what they have done. I get that it was a mistake and that they are human, but it is both of their responsibilities to communicate better. Every girl dreams of a proposal and the moment that they get to tell everyone how wonderful it was and show off a beautiful ring. That is a once-in-a-lifetime moment. I will never really get that.
On the bright note the store manager was really nice and he said he was incredibly embarrased. He said that we would be compensated (my fiance will find out exactly how much tomorrow- which better be MAJOR compensation) and he extended our payment plan to 18 months. Honestly I think that BOTH companies should be doing something! He contacted Tacori to place the order again (correctly this time) and they are going to expedite it. They say 2-4 weeks instead of 4-6. All I can say is it better be two weeks, the ring better be freaking perfect, and the engagement ring and the wedding bands better be significantly reduced! Hopefully my post in two weeks will be a good one. Cross your fingers for me, ladies!
OMG!!!!! I agree — totally inexcusable! It's a really awful situation. I hope you get major compensation too because they need to make it right! It sucks that you had to go through that but at least now the ring will be on its way soon! I totally get what you mean about the proposal story and showing off the ring. Just focus on the fact that this man is going to become your husband and you will be getting the ring finally in a few weeks :)

Hello there,
Okay so I love Tacori, too. That is why my fiance and I picked it out for my engagement ring. But I have to warn anyone out there who is considering buying an engagement ring from that company. It was ordered on August 2, 2012 and it still is not here (coming up on 5 MONTHS)! They told us 4-6 weeks and here we are with no ring. We are literally planning our wedding and haven't told anyone because we are waiting on this ring. We are going to have to tell people on Christmas because we have to start picking out the bridal party. My fiance is bummed because he wanted to get the chance to formally propose and so I could show off the ring, but it still hasn't shipped. He calls Tacori's customer service everyday and they really don't give him any information, just that the stupid computer screen says that the ring is still "in progress". They told him that there was a material issue (like 3 and a half months ago) and no explanation since. They sent us paperwork promising that it would ship and be done on a certain date- big shock- STILL NOT DONE! They just keep saying that they will somehow compensate us but have yet to tell us when the ring will actually be done and how they plan to compensate us. They have been very evasive and won't give us any answers. We put a lot of money down on it. I am nervous to order the wedding bands (at this rate we will have to order the bands before we even get the engagement ring).
So in short just be careful. If you are planning on buying be prepared and buy WAY in advance. My fiance did some research and we are not the only people that this has happened to. I am sure that this is the exception rather than the rule, but I can't hold my tongue anymore. If any updates come I will post. Hope this doesn't happen to anyone else!
