Our wedding was in a hotel 1.5 hours away and many people brought the gifts there instead of mailing them to our home. In the chaos of trying to pack everything into one car the next day, I consolidated some of the gift bags and looks like I lost the cards/tags of two of the gifts. I have no idea who they belong to. Any ideas of how to track this down? They’re from Bed Bath and Beyond and I have the receipt for one of them. Can they give me the buyer’s info?
There’s still a good number of people who we didn’t get gifts from. Some I assume are procrastinating, some will probably let their shower gift double as a wedding gift, and some won’t buy anything at all (FI’s younger friends). So I can’t just go to everyone who didn’t bring a gift and ask “Did you get this for us?”.

I’d try BBB first and see if they can tell you who purchased it. I didn’t register there but on my Macy’s and C&B registry websites they have a “thank your card manager” that says who purchased what. I’ve also had a couple friends post on facebook (if your guests are there) something like “Did you by us the lovely blah, blah gift? Please fess up because we want to thank you.” I’m not sure I love this idea, but as a last resort it can be better than calling everyone. Good luck!

I would go into the store and ask for help. They should be able to determine who purchased what off the registry so you can figure it out by process of eliminiation.

Thanks for the great advice! BBB apparantly doesn’t keep a record of who bought what, but I made a Facebook post pretty much verbatim as @SoonToBeMrsV put it, and we already found one of the mysterious gift givers.
