I wish! It was much too expensive for us...we're thinking *major* anniversary. 5K a person is way too much for us.

November is the most affordable time to go

Originally my FI and I were looking at Tahiti and Bora Bora. It is very costly and for what you are getting we didn't feel it was worth it.

My fiance and I are also considering Tahiti...and Fiju and Bora Bora.  Ok, basically anywhere in the South Pacific!  We're gettting married in July but waiting until December/January to take our honeymoon.  I'd also love to hear more about the whole region if anyone's been!

I am in the same boat as missomally, I would love to go anywhere in the South Pacific. I have been to NZ my self and loved the culture and beauty of everything and so it was a must to head back that way and hit up fiji, Tahiti etc

We are working out prices and stuff right now, however don't know what we'll end up doing (were also doing a honeymoon registry so that might help with some of the costs)

We went to Tahiti and Bora Bora for our honeymoon and had a fantastic time!! It's honestly one of the most beautiful places in the world. For us it was a once in a lifetime trip and experience. My husband got hooked on scuba diving in Tahiti and now he's getting licensed this summer.

That said, it is VERY expensive as everyone previously said. A hamburger at our hotel cost $35. If you and your FI are in a place in your life that you have the money and are not borrowing against your 401k or foregoing a house, then I would definitely recommend Bora Bora as a honeymoon spot.

If you want more details and recommendations, feel free to PM me. I have TONS of research about this area.

I would absolutely love to spend our honeymoon in Tahiti or Fiji!  I've heard the prices are extreme, but I haven't priced it much myself yet.  It would be hard to justify after spending so much on the wedding, but I'm sure it would be so incredible to visit & completely different from anywhere I have traveled before.

tahiti is very beautiful but also very expensive. how about some of the other islands in the south pacific?  Vanuatu (Bokissa resort or Breakers) or Nuie is very friendly and beautiful

We're going to Moorea/Bora Bora for our honeymoon. High season ends at the end of October, so we'll be there both in high and low seasons. Air Tahiti Nui has an awesome deal right now on flights from LAX, and we were able to book flights + 8 nights at Inter-Continental for a very reasonable price (a LOT less than $5k per person).
