Apparently, my Fiance (!!!) took his mom and grandmother’s words to heart, and decided not to hold off on getting engaged. While I was in Israel for the last 10 days, he decided he didn’t want me not in his life, and proposed last night.
We had just gotten back from the airport, I was feeling a little gross from being on a 12 hour flight, and I had completely lost my voice from getting sick in Tiberias, but it was perfect. We walked through the front door, and he went to the bedroom, and I thought he was just being sweet and carrying my bag in. I was busy saying hello to our kitty, and then I saw he had come out of the bedroom with a bouquet of flowers, which I thought were just a sweet “welcome home” gesture. He told me how much he loved me and couldn’t imagine his life without me, then he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I was able to choke out a yes, but I got a lot more emotional than I thought. After I said yes, he grabbed a bottle of champagne out of the fridge, and we popped it to celebrate. He admitted that he had planned to do it this morning, or last night after we came back from dinner, but once he saw me at the airport, he couldn’t wait any longer and had to do it right away. After some champagne, we went out to celebrate with sushi for dinner, and called my mom and his mom once we got home from dinner. We called his dad, grandparents and sister this morning, and are still trying to get in touch with his brothers. I’m still in shock, and am so excited to finally be engaged!
