I knew it was coming, but he proposed!
We are mid-way through a 4 week overseas vacation, which has been absolutely amazing so far. Back when we were planning the trip and booking accommodation, he said he would arrange the place we are now staying for three nights. I had no idea where it was or what type of place he would book, but I knew the proposal would occur on one of those three days.
We bought the ring together online a couple of months ago, so I’d drooled for months over seen stock photos of it. I wanted to maintain a little of the surprise though so I purposely didn’t look at the ring when it was delivered or during the 2 months it was in our wardrobe or when it was with us on the first half of our trip!
So we arrive at his surprise destination which is an old abbey converted into apartments, with amazing stonework and stained glass windows. SO said my face was priceless lol. We decide to go have a swim in the heated pool, which was also gorgeous. Afterwards I have a bath while he lights some candles. I come downstairs and he asks “so how would you like to wear this for the rest of your life?” (meaning the ring), I remind him to get on one knee, and he slips on the ring. No mushy speeches, no tears, but that’s ok thats not really our personalities.
So happy to be engaged to my best friend and to be able to share this with you bees!
Sorry about the photo sizes

GORGEOUS Ring… and such a sweet Proposal
(I LOVE Proposals that are about WHO the couple actually are)
PS… The photos are WONDERFUL. You must tell me WHERE this is. If not here on the Board, then send me a PM. I am starting to gather ideas for our Europe Trip for after we retire.

Wow that looks amazing!! Congrats!
Also, on a side not, I also say “the boy” frequently, and many people look at me like I have 6 heads when I do, so it made me smile to see someone else do it too. 🙂

@Rubbs: Btw, it’s well not good. “He did well” makes grammatical sense. “He did good” does not.
