BTW...sorry about the big pic. Not sure how to make it smaller. :/
Awww I love your proposal, its so sweet :) Gorgeous ring, he did good!! Congrats!
Congratulations!!! It's so sweet that he put so much effort into it. And you ring is beautiful!!
Thank you!! He said it took him over 3 months to plan. :) And YES, we are definitely going to save the ticket. He actually needed to go to a gas station to get some cash out to pay the carriage guy...but he couldn't use my card because I don't remember my pin number. And he tried to get off the car so he could tell the cop what was about to happen, but I guess that's against the rules. The cop immediately made him get back in and shut the door. lol.
That is the sweetest story! Congrats - such an exciting time!!!! Your ring is lovely :)

Cause I am FINALLY ENGAGED!!!!!!!!! Kinda long story...but it was an AMAAAAZING, SPECTACULAR, BEYOND-MY-WILDEST-DREAMS-kind-of-proposal...so you NEED to read it!!
It happened on Wednesday, December 5th! SO FI and I had planned to go to our favorite restaurant as a mini-Xmas party for us. (Caveat: I was laid off three weeks ago; so he said since I wouldn't be going to my company's Christmas party, that we should just get dressed up and have our own). The dinner was going absolutely wonderful until his boss called to say that someone had burned themselves on dry ice at a holiday party and he needed him to go right away to complete an incident report. (My FI works for a dry ice company).
Naturally, he was a little peeved, but his boss wouldn't call unless he really needed him. So we hurried to finish our dinner so he could go take care of the incident report. When we left, he said he needed to stop by a gas station to get a disposable camera to take pictures of the incident. Apparently, incident pictures have to be on a disposable. So we get to the gas station and FI realizes the restaurant kept his debit card. I tried telling him to just use mine, but he insisted on going back.
Once he picked up his card, he was speeding back to the gas station when we got pulled over by a cop. He tried to hurry and get off the car, but the cop didn't let him. So, he took the ticket, went inside the gas station, and then came back out empty-handed. They didn't have disposable cameras, so he said his phone would just have to work.
The "holiday party" just happened to be only 8 miles from the restaurant we were at, so we got there in no time. It was a castle with a lady waiting on the other side of the gate to let him in. He told me to wait in the car and that it shouldn't take long. A few minutes later, he called to say the lady didn't realize I was with him and would go back for me. So, I got off the car when I saw a man coming to open the gate and walked in to see a horse-drawn carriage waiting for me. To my hesitation, the man assured me that THIS was my ride.
After what seemed like forever, we arrived at the front of the castle which was completely lit up with a light show to one of my favorite songs. It was at this point that I started thinking that MAYBE this could be it, but tried really hard to not get my hopes up. The driver told me that this was my stop and to walk in the doors. So, I hesitantly got off and started walking, when suddenly my cousin's husband came up behind me and told me he would be escorting me to the front door. Now i KNEW this had to be it!! Which obviously made me anxious and teary-eyed.
When I walked through the door, there was a grand staircase with sooooo many candles! The outside music stopped and I could hear a piano playing upstairs. My cousin's husband told me to walk upstairs to the left. I did as told, and as I walked upstairs, the candles continued all the way to a huge ballroom with even more candles. There was a chair in the middle of the room, facing a projection screen, with red candles aorund it in the shape of a heart. I sat down, and a few seconds later my FI came on the screen and said to not be nervous and that I would get all my questions answered shortly. Then a slideshow of pics from the last 9 years started playing to the song "A Thousand Years" by Christina Perri. I was sobbing at this point and ready to see my FI.
When it was finished, he came out...said some amazingly sweet things and asked me to marry him! I was crying so much that I nodded, so he asked me again and said he needed a verbal answer. Lol. I said YES! And then we got up and danced and had champagne.
Afterwards, he blindfolded me and took me to my grandparents house, where my family and his were waiting for us with cake, more champagne and balloons. I would never have imagined it would happen this way...and I can now say that after waiting so long...he definitely made up for it! :) Oh, and best of all...he hired a photographer to snap pictures of it all!! <3
And now for the ring porn:
