Well, I think it would depend on where you live now and what places have you already travelled to?

What do you want to do on your vacation? Sight see? relax on a beach for 3 weeks? backpack around? Excursions? All inclusive? Its a big world with lots to do and see!

We did three weeks in Vietnam this past spring and backpacked from the north to the south. Stayed in inexpensive hotels (10-20cad / night for2 ppl)and some nights we stayed in **** resorts for $40 a night. It was amazing for us, but might not be your cuppa tea.

bluesparkles: We just got back from Aruba on our honeymoon. It was AMAZING. I know that wasn’t on your list whatsoever – but I would HIGHLY recommend it if you are beach people 🙂

Will you be staying in that one city the whole time? Or traveling around to places near by also?

My first thought when you say mountains and ocean is Vancouver BC (my home town) haha. I started searching flight for our DW again after reading your response. SO exciting to be planning such a nice vacation and i caught the bug now haha

My suggestion from your list: Spain! Amazing food, sights, ocean. mountains and definitely would be an adventure!! Especially if you could get a few day or week layover elsewhere in europe. If not, flights within europe are cheap and you could visit neighbouring countries!!

So the first chance we had at 4 weeks off, we went to Austrailia and New Zealand, 2 weeks each. We picked it because it was far and it would be tough to take that much time off again. We drove around the south island and did some camping. It was absolutely amazing and beautiful. In Austrailia, the major cities are pretty far apart and we flew to several different cities. Sydney was ok for us, it was hard going from gorgeous scenery (what we like) to cities. We did make it to Whitsunday islands and it is by far the best beach in the world imo.

The next 3 week trip we too was to Italy (2 weeks) and Switzerland (1 week). I’d always wanted to go to Italy and though it wasn’t scenic, it did not disappoint. I also love ruins/very historic sites. Switzerland, Bernese Oberland, was beautiful. Recap: http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/my-italy-switzerland-trip-recap/#axzz39BXoatuv

Last year we spent 18 days in Iceland, and it could possibly be one of our favorite trips. We drove around on it’s only highway and the whole place was just gorgeous. SO much diverse natural beauty. Recap: http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/iceland-picture-recap/#axzz39BXoatuv

I’ve been to Hawaii (I live on the east coast), but I think 3 weeks would be a waste spent there. Both times I went was 10 days, which I thought was a good amount of time.
