@Laurenskii:  We are doing the same thing – spending our wedding weekend and dress shopping together 🙂 My advice: dont take it personally. You are bringing him for his opinion and you want him to think the dress is beautiful (rather than just having to pretend to). There are so many dresses out there, be patient and you will find one you both love!

I wouldn’t worry… This might help you!

After I went dress shopping, I went home and showed DH all of th pictures. He hated every single one!

Including on the dress I was planning on buying the next day!

So I went back in, tried on a few more dresses, and found My Dress, The One Dress to Rule Them All.

Which I wouldn’t have, if I hadn’t had DH look over the pictures!

@Laurenskii:  I took my FI with me and we’re having the full shabang ceremony/reception! We went and tried on lots of dresses at multiple shops. We narrowed it down to 2 that we both were okay with, one being his favorite and one being mine. But they were both ones that he thought were pretty and liked. I ended up buying the one that I liked. Since he liked it and did think it was pretty than it was important to me that I feel beautiful and comfortable. Since there will be a ton of attention on us that day I thought it was important that I pick the dress that made me feel the best so that I didn’t have any insecurity that day.

There were definitely a few that I liked that he really didn’t and vice versa but just keep going and trying and keep it fun and lighthearted. You’ll find something!! 🙂 I also went through some pictures with him on Pinterest before hand to get an idea of what he liked and didn’t like so that I wasn’t trying on styles he didn’t like. I thought it would be easy to hear him say he didn’t like the dress in picture than once it’s on me. I tend to take things a little personally lol.

@Laurenskii:  I would love my FI to go with me. He is very traditional though and doesn’t want to see the gown till the day of. UGH. So instead, I’m taking his mom, my mom and a revolving group of friends on a whirlwind shopping trip in March.

@Laurenskii:  WHAAAAT!! You can’t let him see the dress before hand!   You are going to ruin the luck that everyone knows is what makes a marriage last!!!

Sorry, did I not understand the question?  Sealed

I took my FI dress shopping once and decided I’m pretty sure I’m not going to take him again. He hated dresses on the hangers and wouldn’t let me try them on and he hated them before I got to walk out of the fitting room fully. I’m not saying I loved those dresses, but he apparently pictured me in a very specific dress and that was all that was going to be “pretty” to him – turns it out was a ruffly ballgown (which I love anyway, *phew*), but I plan to go a second time and not bring him – now I know what HE likes, time for me to figure out what *I* like. 🙂

My FH would have zero patience for dress shopping.  He has no desire to see my dress before the big day – in fact it’s hanging in the closet right now and I’m more worried that I’m going to put it on and show him that I am about him looking.  I love it, I’m worried he won’t (I think he’s going to say it looks like toilet paper….)

@Laurenskii:  I hope you mean you hope he doesn’t! lol the truth is, he wasn’t in the mood to go wedding dress shopping that day. Normally, he’s much better at shopping and picks out the best clothes for me that I wouldn’t have picked out for myself. But, that day he just didn’t feel like going and I did. I should have waited til he was in a better mood.

@Laurenskii:  I had my finace help me pick my dress.  Best decision I could have made as far as who goes with me to pick a dress.  I really wanted HIS input, and not anyone elses.

He has seen me in my dress.  Last week he went with me to the seamstress.  And all he would tell me is how beautiful the dress is.  However, going forward he will not be seeing anymore of the fittings and all of the final details.  That way he is somewhat suprised of the final look.

As far as him liking something you don’t like.  I really don’t have any advice.  I am sure that you both we find something that you love.  There are lots of dresses to choose from.  I am sure you will both agree on a dress.  I am so excited for you and your fiance.  The experiece I have had taking my fiance has been wonderful.  He is now in the process of learing how much goes into the brides look…..and he is my best friend, and most honest critic.

Good Luck!  I can’t wait to see what you choose!
